About candycorn

Thanks to my parents being super generous on my birthday, this bad boy will be on my doorstep in just a few days from Japan!

You talented weddingbees with your mad gocco-ing skills made it hard to resist the temptation of such a glorious, self-contained compact color printing system. Last night I watched Paper Source’s tutorial video, with the lady who brings me almost as much joy as Bob Ross:

I love how she is constantly stumbling over her words and muttering to herself. Screw Martha Stewart, this lady knows what’s hot (just kidding Martha, you know you’ll always be my main squeeze). So some of you might still be like, what the h-e-double-hockey-stick is gocco? When I told Mr. Candy Corn what I was getting for my birthday, he looked at me like he was expecting on of these (I wish):

Basically, it’s something for me to obsess over and to distract myself from wedding stuff with for a few nanoseconds. Not only can I put my illustrations on greeting cards and clothes, but I can use it for wedding craftiness (making my own menus, thank you cards, etc.).

I’m sure you guys have seen the amazing gocco projects the bees have made, but here are just a few more examples of gocco projects that I’ve been admiring:

Did anyone else on here buy a gocco after seeing the amazing work our fellow bees have done?

tea says:

i haven’t gotten it yet but yup, that’s the plan after seeing all the gocco-ey goodness on the bee!

3.
sweetlilgator says:

Not yet, but I’m slowly losing the self control and will probably have one by the end of this wedding planning process…

And by the way, I am SO with you on the fact that the Paper Source lady is hilarious!!! I was giggling so hard at her demo that my FI asked me what I was watching! HA!

4.
Maude says:

Yep, I did. I ended up using a laser printer for my invitations, but Gocco’ed my invitation labels and my thank you notes (they match each other) and will gocco programs as well.

Thank you so much! I just purchased the elephant card to give to Mr. Jasmine on our wedding day. We both share a love of elephants :)

mrsbic says:

i didn’t gocco anything for my wedding because i hadn’t heard of it–found out 3 days before the big event–little late now–but i have such a strong desire for this bad boy–i seriously want to gocco everything!

Tara says:

I had never heard of gocco until I started reading wedding bee. I thought it was a bit too involved for me…until I watched that video! I can do that! I don’t have the patience to gocco my invitation suite, but a lot of other wedding related projects. Thanks for the link to the video! :D

Becca says:

Can you share where you ordered it from? Thanks!

9.
pailoflove says:

yes! I am waiting until I’m close to needing to gocco something but I’ve had my order sitting in my head for a while. I still can’t decide if I want a PG-5 or dive in and get the PG-11

EK says:

Miss Jasmine- I bought the same card for my fiance to give to him on our wedding day! He loves elephants too.

akimbo says:

No way. But I was tempted. I almost bought one. Then I remembered that I cannot draw. And the Gocco will not magically give me that talent.

In my hands, the Gocco would simply be a fun mess. Something to think about for baby showers and parties, but not to risk my wedding invitations on. :)

I totally bought a Gocco about 6 months ago from Paper Source, but I haven’t done anything with it yet! If I can learn it in the next month I may do napkins and other side projects on it! :) (My wedding is in August)

Stacie says:

I am SERIOUSLY considering buying one after being on weddingbee, but I am SO scared that I will not be successful at Gocco’ing anything. It seems so complicated just from the small tutorials the other “bees” have given.

i love this! i might have to get one too!!

I want one SO BAD. Are you reading this, Mr. Lovebug? BAD!

Besides the panties being completely classless and tacky, the rest of the projects are great. I’m thinking about buying one for myself for my birthday. Is there a Gocco for Dummies book?

What a cool looking system! Wish I’d known about it when I was planning my wedding!

20.
jbird says:

Yep — I couldn’t resist it! My confidence is growing with every gocco’d project I see. I think I’m obsessed now!

21.
Caroline says:

Love that lady! I bought a Xyron sticker-making device. I know if I bought a Gocco, it’d probably collect dust, but I look forward to seeing your Gocco creations!

22.
bunchkie says:

Lol at your picture of a gecko. I don’t know why but it made me giggle.

23.
JCM9608 says:

Yep. I ended up getting a PG11.

nejireta says:

I bought a Gocco! I have yet to use it though. Since the supplies are pricy I’ve been waiting for my first big project to test it out…my save the dates! I can’t wait though!

25.
Shawn says:

Yes! Thank goodness for the Bees or else I never would have had this much fun planning our wedding. I’ve Gocco’d all sorts of stuff. It’s very easy, and v. fun.

26.
Aliya says:

I bit the bullet and bought a brand-new Gocco from a Weddingbee Classifieds seller about 6 weeks ago, but haven’t had the courage to use it yet. I watched the Paper Source lady after reading this post, though, and now I’m CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get started! Woooo Gocco!

She totally makes me have giggle outbursts as well!

@Miss Jasmine:
Aw, that’s so sweet. I heart the elephant card :)

@Becca:
I ordered it at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5072634 on Etsy :)

@K:
Sorry you aren’t digging the panties, they’re just meant in good fun :) I’ve just been studying up on gocco by searching for “gocco” on wedding bee. The bees sure know a thing or two about how it works! I’m so nervous to test it out eeeeep.

@Aliya:
Awesome! Good luck with it!!

28.
K says:

Oh I’m not blaming you for the panties. I just don’t dig them! No worries! I did go on the Etsy site that they’re on and that’s ALL that she sells. So, I’m apparently the only one who doesn’t like them! :)

Kris says:

I bought one after seeing it here and I love it!! I’ve used it for all sorts of things and can honestly say it’s seriously changed my life. I’ve saved a ton of money and it’s a fun way to challenge my creativity (which is seriously lacking).

30.
K says:

Ok, I have a gocco question. I would really like to buy one, because I love the look of it and I love to craft. My husband and I are renewing our vows in the next year or so and I’d like to make my invites/menu cards etc. instead of having them done in letterpress. Mainly to save money, but I also like the idea of doing as much of it as possible so I have the memories as well. Anyway, I’m going to have the invites hand lettered by Crystal Kluge (Good her, her work is AMAZING). Can I then turn it into a screen to print with? That shouldn’t be a problem would it? I really need a How-To book. The lady at Paper-Source cracked me up, so I couldn’t concentrate!

31.
Erin says:

I had never heard of gocco before reading WeddingBee! I’ve already done our invites with a color laser printer, but I’m seriously considering getting one just for future craft projects. I’m hoping to get my mom on the band wagon, because she’s an artist and loves screen printing but no the mess. I’m hoping we can share it!

32.
sakarina says:

Yup. I heard about it here, and within a week I had a gocco waiting for me in the front porch! I LOVE IT!!

NearlyMsSubrosa says:

Ok, you’re making me really want one now!
