Way back in January, as a post-script to an entry I wrote about being sick, I mentioned that a cousin of mine was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. By the time she was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to the point where it was classified as being at stage four, which as anyone who has ever dealt with cancer knows, is not a good thing.
Things seemed pretty scary and, considering Mr. Hum’s family lost a close friend two years ago to the same disease, we were all very concerned with what was going to happen next. However, we were hopeful that, because of how strong and positive she is, she could recover.
It has been almost four months since I wrote that entry and I’m writing today because a recent trip to the oncologist revealed that my cousin, Tassy, responded positively to her first round of chemo.
In fact, the results of her most recent scan have shown that the tumour they were fighting has been significantly reduced in size to the point where it is almost immeasurable!
Anyway, I wanted to share the good news thus far, to thank all the readers who showed their support to my family during this difficult time and to give a big shout out to my superhero of a cousin as she continues treatment.
The fight may not be over yet, but if anyone can beat this thing, we know you can! Much love and many hugs, Wonder Woman! ![]()
