About Mrs. Peacock

I don’t normally do product reviews because I feel like mine always sound like cheesy advertising. I have, however, been bragging about Crest Multicare Whitestrips to anyone who would listen so I thought I would share the love with you all.

I have really sensitive teeth. I had my teeth professionally whitened in college and I was so unhappy. My mouth hurt for months and I had to make weekly trips to my dentist so that he could rate the whiteness of my teeth and send me home with a stronger (ouch) bleach. I’ve tried several at-home whitening strips for upkeep since then and they all left me in pain. A cold wind would blow and my teeth would tingle. Until recently, I had blamed the treatments rather than my teeth and just laid off. Now I am on a solid sensitive toothpaste regime and I am no longer scared of cold water. But, I had still been afraid of the bleach.

With the wedding quickly approaching, I started thinking again about whitening my teeth. I love coffee so I needed a little something to brighten things up. The Crest strips have been just what I needed. I only have to leave them on for five minutes in the morning- showering, blow drying my hair, checking my email- which makes them wonderfully convenient. The Premium version may be a quicker fix, but for a girl with sensitive teeth, faster isn’t always better. A few weeks after starting the treatments, my teeth were clearly whiter and pain free.

I just wanted to share in case anyone else had been scared off of the strips. It might be the sensitive toothpaste + weaker strips, but I am very happy with the results!

Wow, I was really interested to see this post. I would also like to whiten my teeth as they are a little yellow from an old anti-cavity coat, curry, and tea, but they are also very sensitive. I use the anti-sensitivity toothpaste and mouthwash too!
How big a difference in whiteness did you notice?
Do you use them once or on a regular basis, and how long does the whitening last?
How far in advance would you use them before the wedding?
Thanks very much!

great timing! my teeth are somewhat sensitive - using sensitive toothpaste is usually enough, but i’ve been leery of whitening products. thanks to this post, i’m going to give this a try - thanks!

I also have the same problem. I’ve not been able to use the whitening strips in a while because my teeth get too sensitive. I’ve just picked up a new product, Arm and Hammer Whiteneing Boost (http://www.whiteningbooster.com/) which I really like. Its basically extra toothpaste that you add when you brush your teeth. I’ve experienced no sensitivity! The results are about the same as whitening strips for me. Its also nice because you dont have to change your normal routine to use this product.

Thanks for the product information!

I tried whitening my teeth with strips before and I always had to stop after a couple of times because my teeth were so sensitive.

I am definitely going to try this out!

@Sarahbell: I noticed a pretty big difference! I was really happy with the results. I use them every day. I am not sure how long it lasts, as I am still using them daily. I think that you would want to go through one box before the wedding… I can’t remember exactly when I started noticing a difference, so I can’t be more exact. Sorry :(
@t-blaz: that sounds interesting! I wonder what kind of super white teeth I would get if I combined them… :)

That is encouraging! I used the Premium strips before and my teeth got really sensitive. I didn’t even think that the slower process would be less sensitive. Can’t wait to try it out!

i just bought the daily ones and now i’m not sure if i want the 7 day ones or these…i’ll probably go back and buy the 7 day ones, and if my teeth are too sensitive try the daily ones; i know other people in my family who could use the ones i just bought!
