About Mrs. Tiramisu

Dr. Tiramisu!

May 26th, 2008 @ 6:02 pm by Mrs. Tiramisu

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week… I finally made it home to Maine late Thursday night after sitting in some pretty terrible Memorial Day weekend traffic. My big news to share is that on Thursday I graduated from Optometry School! It was four long years (three of which were spent away from Mr. Tiramisu), and I’m so excited to finally be finished with being a student!

Lucky for me, I’m on a sort of forced vacation for the next two months, as I won’t receive my license to practice for awhile. This means I’ll be a full-time wedding planner (and weddingbee blogger)! I’ve left A LOT of things to do for these last two months knowing that I’d have some time off to get it done, so I’m going to be a busy Miss Tiramisu from now until the wedding…

I’m sure I’m not the only one with a lot going on - graduating, house hunting, moving - all of these things seem to go along with getting married for a lot of people. So many transitions all at once! I’m excited about my new degree, but I’m also excited to have a little time off before starting a job to work on earning my M.R.S. ;)

Anything else big going on in your life?

Congrats, Doc ;)

I graduated from law school two weeks ago, and I’ve been on a break ever since! It’s a lot of fun being a full-time wedding planner! But, I start studying for the exam next week. Grrrrr.

Congrats again, that’s awesome!!!!

Congrats :) I got my DPT about a year and a half ago and it was a HUGE weight off my back.

We bought a house a couple months ago, that plus wedding planning, and starting to train for another marathon and I am one busy little bee. Lucky you to have a forced vacation to work on wedding stuff!! You’ll never have that long of a break again so enjoy it!

Wow, congrats!!! That’s such a cute picture of you guys, too. I’m taking it easy this summer after a really busy Sept-May, and I *should* be starting my long list of DIY projects while Mr.GV is out of town for 3 weeks. So far the last two days, though, I’ve watched “Enchanted,” a whole lot of TLC and WE, and spent pretty much every waking hour online (hence all my comments the last few days). Hey, we all need a vacation! :-D

Congrats! FI and I orchestrated a cross-country move a few weeks ago after I quit my job to go to divinity school. We’re flying back to City A where he’ll graduate from medical school and then we’re getting married. He starts residency a few weeks after the wedding. Lots of big things this time of year…graduations, weddings, etc.

I too (even tho it feels like a lifetime away) will be getting my docterate before the wedding, so I will graduate as Dr. Maiden Name. What are you doing after the wedding? Dr. New Last Name or sticking with Dr. Maiden Name? This seems to be a hot topic for my parents and FILs.

We have had a whirlwind weekend of big transitions…I got a job offer Friday, we found a new apartment in a new city Saturday, and hopefully I can give notice at my old job today! Woohoo! All that and a wedding four months from tomorrow. Whew.

I graduated from law school too (as did FI) and now we like Miss Coconut are beginning to study for the bar exam… I cannot wait until August when I spend the month vacationing after finishing the bar!

Congrats! I just graduated college about a week ago, and I wish I was on vacation…but it’s work work work for me. We are also putting a bid on a house today…SCARY! Especially with the wedding less than 4 months away and having all these expenses.

I feel like I am in over my head — in the past 5 months I graduated college, moved to a new city, started a new job, started house hunting, wedding planning, honeymoon planning (a trip to europe takes a lot of planning!), marathon training… and a few weeks before the August wedding we’ll be (hopefully) moving into the new house we are currently hunting for… I’m insane for doing this all at once!

Congrats on the degree :)
