About Those Favors…

May 30th, 2008 @ 11:07 am by Mrs. Toucan

I haven’t written about our wedding favors in awhile, since I had all of my boxes of tea cups wrapped up months ago. I almost totally forgot about what I was planning on putting inside them - the flowering tea balls!

When we ordered the flowering tea balls in China in December, they ladies in the tea shop vacuum sealed the bags so they would stay nice and fresh. When we were wrapping the boxes, I decided that it was to early to break open the sealed bags of tea… so we waited, and I almost forgot! When I remembered this weekend, I was lucky in the sense that I already had all the supplies I needed to package them.

I used leftover cellophane bags that my sister had from lollipop favors at our shower, and some double happiness stickers that my parents had gotten for free when we bought our invitations (though you’ll see at the top of the picture we tried out using larger stickers with our names at first, but in the end we opted for the double happiness).

This little mini project was really easy, and I think the little effort is worth it for the presentation. :) It just goes to show that some wedding projects don’t have to be complicated!

these are gonna be such awesome favors! Especially for those who have never seen blooming tea! I remember the first time for me…amazing :)

Those tea leaves are so beautiful. I would recommend having a clear glass teapot displaying one (or a few displays?), though, so that people understand what they are. I bought these as a present for a friend and she had NO idea what they were or how to use them until I showed her.

@Evie: That’s a really good idea! Saves me the trouble of printing out the little insert I was going to put explain what it was! THANKS! :D
