About Mrs. Peacock

Mr. Peacock’s sister is throwing us a co-ed shower in June and I am so excited! The invites arrived last week and they could not be cuter :) I love the Mexican theme.

His sister and her husband like to order their Mexican food from a little restaurant down the street from them. It’s really, really good. Hopefully the margaritas will be, too - I’m making them! I’ll tack my recipe onto the end of this post.

I also wanted to share how they worded the “instructions” for the gifts. We wanted to make it guy friendly and allow people to buy off the registry. I thought that she did a great job!

Here is my super simple but crazy yummy margarita recipe. Enjoy :)

1 can limeade
1 can tequila
1/2 can triple sec
1 tbsp. powdered sugar

Mix in the blender. The remaining mix works well on the rocks. For frozen margs, pour half into tupperware and save for later. Mix the remaining half with a full blender of ice. Enjoy!

I use the same recipe, minus powdered sugar … I’ll have to try that! Love the invitations!

super cute! My aunt had a coed shower/engagement party for us also on May 3 with a cinco de mayo theme. It was a huge hit! Pinata is a must! Our 20-something friends had a blast with it and the couple of 2-3 year olds did too :)

So that means you’re making us all margaritas next time we hang out, right? ;)

Love this invitation and theme. We’re doing a Mexican-Themed Rehearsal Dinner with an authentic San Diego Mexican Caterer (complete with grill for making meat and tortillas). My Bridesmaid are taking turn bartending so I’ll have to give them youre recipe.

@Miss Hydrangea: I started using the powdered sugar when a friend told me that it kills the tequila taste. I only use it with the cheaper stuff, but it definitely helps!

@SKM: A pinata?! I never thought of that. Sounds a little dangerous :)

@Miss Jasmine: Obviously. Nothing goes better with cupcakes than a margarita!

Peacock, your post is so timely b/c I’ve been on a big maragarita kick for the past week as it starts to get humid here in the South.

I know it sounds crazy, but adding a little Fresca (the soft drink) to margaritas also helps mask the cheap tequila and bring out the crispness… and it’s a little lighter than sugar— try it sometime! :)

The pinatas are awesome.

How about a pinata with some lingere and undies for him.

Two questions:
Do you use one can of frozen limeade concentrate or one can of prepared limeade?
Also, do you happen to know if your FSIL designed the invitations or purchased them somewhere?
Thanks!

@ebeerya: I obviously can’t speak for Miss. P, but I would recommend fresh, Margaritas always taste better w/ fresh juice :)
@Miss Peacock: That invite is so cute! Please share pictures from the shower.
