Another one of my Memorial Day weekend trips was taken to Hobby Lobby. I love this store. It seems like every time I walk in there, whatever I’m looking for is 50% off. This trip was no different! I knew that I wanted to put about five picture frames on the guestbook table - two pics from my bridal portraits, and three from our engagement portraits.
Lo and behold, when I walked in and headed to the black pictures frames, they were 50% off! I chose 2 - 8×10s, 2 - 5×7s and 1 - 4×6 to put on the table. I believe I spent somewhere about $40 with tax for all five frames. Then, I took my cds of pics to the local Walmart and printed them out on the Kodak kiosk. $20 for all 5 photos, not too bad if I say so myself. In about 30 minutes I had all of the pics, headed home to trim them up and put them in their new frames.
Our big e-pic. Some people have complained because they don’t get why it’s so sunny and orange, but this is one of Mr. H and my favorite pics, so it was definitely in!

…Everything was in place. Mr. Lovebug and Melissa had taken up their positions on the steps of the ceremony site. The string quartet was playing the last few bars of Canon. I waited with bated breath for my cue. All I could feel, all I was aware of, was the breeze stirring my skirts.
Only, wait. That breeze sure is…breezy. In fact, that’s not so much a breeze as it is wind. I look up at the sky. It’s suddenly grey. It’s so very…grey. Oh my god. It’s going to rain. It’s going to rain on my–
CRRAAAACK! Audible gasps. Nervous laughter. What the…? What’s going–
And then, before I know what’s happening, the music starts. I wouldn’t know what the commotion was until after the ceremony, when I find out that seconds before I walked out, the wind tore a huge branch off one of the trees. It came crashing down inches away from one of the photographer’s assistant’s head, nearly braining him.

Today we leave for the wedding!! We are driving up to Old Orchard Beach this afternoon (assuming all goes well), setting up tonight (which is AWWWWESOME because they don’t have a Friday wedding), and then the festivities begin for our thunderstormy wedding tomorrow!!
Thank you all for your help in this process! I always know I can turn to the hive for the toughest questions!! I’ll be back Sunday and the picture-sharing will begin!!!
Before I go, I will leave you with this: what does it look like to have 700 flowers at the foot of your bed?? I think it’s something… like this…

Mr. Peacock’s sister is throwing us a co-ed shower in June and I am so excited! The invites arrived last week and they could not be cuter
I love the Mexican theme.
His sister and her husband like to order their Mexican food from a little restaurant down the street from them. It’s really, really good. Hopefully the margaritas will be, too - I’m making them! I’ll tack my recipe onto the end of this post.

Nothing fancy schmancy but we needed table numbers for the Chinese banquet and wanted one that could give us space to write each guest’s name at each table, stood on its own, and showed the number. But I couldn’t find a simple tri-fold template online that I could use and make easily, so I created my own and it’s shared here for you all!!
I kept mine really really simple but you can use the template and dress it up in so many different ways! Here’s how it looked prior to printing it on Staples Cover Letter stock paper.

I know I post about my mom a lot, but I really do think she is the best. She is just so creative and talented and generous– she is everything I aspire to be. She’s put her whole heart into adding special homemade touches to our wedding and I tear up when I think about being surrounded by little reminders of her love on my wedding day.
Her latest (and possibly greatest) DIY project is a guestbook for our mehndi. We’re having a polaroid guestbook for the wedding, but we wanted to do something a little whimsical for the mehndi, which is traditionally a more casual event. So my mom came up with a really creative idea, inspired by something she saw in the Stampin Up catalog.
First, she cut out tons of orange and yellow flowers using different hand punches(orange, yellow, and green are traditional mehndi colors). She layered cut-outs in different colors and patterns to create the lovely, sweet flowers below.
Hive, I have a confession to make: I am an incredibly klutzy person. It’s rare if a day goes by that I don’t trip on something, drop something, break something, or spill something on myself. Mr. Cupcake is constantly rolling his eyes and asking “are you okay?” or moving my water glass away from the edge of the table for fear that I’ll smack it and spill it all over the place. (It’s been known to happen…. More than once.) I am a Grade A, Certified Klutz.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a bit of a conundrum: I couldn’t figure out whether or not to have menus. After reading everyone’s comments, I decided that I would do menus, but only if it were as simple as humanly possible, didn’t stress me out, and didn’t disrupt my very simple looking place setting. Here’s what I came up with:

You might be wondering where the circle of dots come from. I promise that I didn’t just throw them in there for the heck of it–these match our invitations, which you will be seeing in a couple of weeks.

Sorry, I’ve been on hiatus from posting my wedding pics. Things have been busy here in Radish land. Hopefully you guys still remember me around here and are still interested in my post-wedding details.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the details or our wedding cake with you. Here it is, the most well-photographed pastry I have ever eaten! Isn’t it purty?

I loved our wedding cake, I really did. I put a minimal amount of thought into it, and It was beautiful and, most importantly, delicious!
