I know I post about my mom a lot, but I really do think she is the best. She is just so creative and talented and generous– she is everything I aspire to be. She’s put her whole heart into adding special homemade touches to our wedding and I tear up when I think about being surrounded by little reminders of her love on my wedding day.
Her latest (and possibly greatest) DIY project is a guestbook for our mehndi. We’re having a polaroid guestbook for the wedding, but we wanted to do something a little whimsical for the mehndi, which is traditionally a more casual event. So my mom came up with a really creative idea, inspired by something she saw in the Stampin Up catalog.
First, she cut out tons of orange and yellow flowers using different hand punches(orange, yellow, and green are traditional mehndi colors). She layered cut-outs in different colors and patterns to create the lovely, sweet flowers below.

Hive, I have a confession to make: I am an incredibly klutzy person. It’s rare if a day goes by that I don’t trip on something, drop something, break something, or spill something on myself. Mr. Cupcake is constantly rolling his eyes and asking “are you okay?” or moving my water glass away from the edge of the table for fear that I’ll smack it and spill it all over the place. (It’s been known to happen…. More than once.) I am a Grade A, Certified Klutz.
A couple of weeks ago, I had a bit of a conundrum: I couldn’t figure out whether or not to have menus. After reading everyone’s comments, I decided that I would do menus, but only if it were as simple as humanly possible, didn’t stress me out, and didn’t disrupt my very simple looking place setting. Here’s what I came up with:

You might be wondering where the circle of dots come from. I promise that I didn’t just throw them in there for the heck of it–these match our invitations, which you will be seeing in a couple of weeks.

Sorry, I’ve been on hiatus from posting my wedding pics. Things have been busy here in Radish land. Hopefully you guys still remember me around here and are still interested in my post-wedding details.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the details or our wedding cake with you. Here it is, the most well-photographed pastry I have ever eaten! Isn’t it purty?

I loved our wedding cake, I really did. I put a minimal amount of thought into it, and It was beautiful and, most importantly, delicious!

Way back around the time I started blogging in the fall, I wrote about a falling out I had with a person I referred to as my best friend. The thing I’ve come to learn about friends is, the real ones, the ones who love you and care about your happiness are the ones who will stand by you and be there for you. Which is why, with the wedding coming up, I wanted to share a story of someone who has been like that for me for a long time now - my friend Oscar.

This Sunday morning, June 1st, Mrs. Bee, Miss Lovebird and I are going to see the much anticipated and long awaited movie — Sex and the City.
We’re sorry the picnic got rained out, but would still love to meet some of you. After the movie we’re planning on getting a cupcake (or in my case banana pudding) at Magnolia’s — YUM.
If any New York area readers would like to join us please email onion@weddingbee.com and I’ll let you know the time and place.

I haven’t written about our wedding favors in awhile, since I had all of my boxes of tea cups wrapped up months ago. I almost totally forgot about what I was planning on putting inside them - the flowering tea balls!
When we ordered the flowering tea balls in China in December, they ladies in the tea shop vacuum sealed the bags so they would stay nice and fresh. When we were wrapping the boxes, I decided that it was to early to break open the sealed bags of tea… so we waited, and I almost forgot! When I remembered this weekend, I was lucky in the sense that I already had all the supplies I needed to package them.
Even though I wish I could take the risk of making my own fresh flower bouquet for the wedding, I thought it would be best to hire a professional. That way I won’t have extra stress the day of and that’s a good thing.
For my flowers I wanted something fluffy… basically that’s the definition of peonies. They are my ultimate favorite bloom and I love big and full bodied flowers. This inspiration of bouquets is pretty much what I am going for.

When I picked out my gown, it was a one stop shopping experience. I did my research ahead of time, found several possible gowns, tried them on, and bought one. I love my gown, I think it is very “bridal” and it makes me feel pretty.
Every once in awhile though I think of the dresses that weren’t. What would my dress look like if I was built like a hanger (you know the kind of woman who looks good wearing anything)? What if money was no object? What if I wasn’t worried about not feeling like a bride on the big day?
In my fantasies my other dress is:
I ordered some light (and boy, do I mean light) reading for our honeymoon this past weekend on Amazon.com. Sitting on the beach with a drink in hand calls for some fun and flirty reads!
I may be married by the time I’m on my honeymoon, but I’ll for sure still have weddings on the brain, so I made sure to pick up a few titles in the wedding-themed category.

This installment of my ‘Looking Back’ series* focuses on one of the details about our big day that I am very grateful for: we went a little overboard.
As many of you know, Mr Corn and I were married at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, RI. After the ceremony, we hosted an authentic New England clam bake. Considering how close we were to the water, and the food we were serving, it only made sense that every detail at our wedding was based on our New England Coastal theme.
Everything, that is, except for these guys:
Dyeable, satin pumps? Not for me, and not for my bridesmaids. So here’s my latest installment of shoe love…because zappos has free shipping and free shipping on returns, with a 365 day timeline! I love, love, love #2 and #14 for bridesmaids. #18 for myself: hello damask!! It even sports a removable cameo, which is a pretty cute touch even though I’m not partial to it! I’ve never had a thing for snakeskin in the least, but I’m so tempted to get #20 or #21 as my bridal shoes.

My bestest friend in the whole world (beside Mr. Peacock, of course) is getting married in June. She requested a girls’ weekend in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin - Miss Sundae’s wedding locale - for her bachelorette party and we couldn’t have been more happy to comply. Lake Geneva is an extremely cute little lakeside town just a few hours from Chicago. The big party was this past weekend and we had an amazing time. Once everyone shares their pictures with me, I will write a bigger post with all the details. Everything turned out perfectly and no one wanted to leave on Sunday morning!
My friend did not want anything crazy or any of the typical, kinda tacky but fun antics during the weekend. She did not want a veil covered in condoms or plastic models of the male anatomy. She did not want strippers or embarassing party games. She and I are on the same page there, so it was easy to agree. We wanted to make it special and different from just any other girls’ weekend, so we threw in a few surprises.
First off, the goody bags.
