About Mrs. Toucan

Mr. Toucan Walks the Walk

June 1st, 2008 @ 10:24 am by Mrs. Toucan

A few weeks ago, Mr. Toucan went to church and picked out our wedding music (I was not feeling well that day, so instead of pushing off the appointment, Mr. Touc went by himself). It’s not super exciting to pick out church music, so why am I posting about it? Because I’ve finally succeeded in uploading onesuperfantastic little clip of Mr. Toucan on YouTube.

First, I have to tell you a little more back story. After the church music director emailed us the list of songs that Mr. Toucan picked, we had our own private listening party. When I first heard the song that Mr. Toucan had picked for the Bridal Entrance, I thought it had a weird tempo to walk down the aisle. I was trying to prove my point by pretending to walk down the aisle, when Mr. Toucan brushed me aside to show me how it’s done (please excuse all the moving boxes)…

Oh yes. That man/bride there - that’s my soon-to-be husband. Sexy. :)

Oh, and in case any of you are wondering… that’s his undershirt pulled over his head. That’s supposed to be the veil. He’s such a goober. It’s possibly one of the many reasons why I love him. He can embarrass himself and let me post it for everyone to see - and he doesn’t care because he made me laugh (you may have noticed the camera shaking a little - I was DYING).

That was hysterical! But I can see his point - that’s a pretty song, and you don’t want to walk too fast. It’ll keep you going slow, and apparently you will be able to talk to all of your guests as you walk down the aisle. ;-)

I love the video - he is funny! The song is a bit sad though.

Haha! He’s sooo cute! I can totally see my FH doing something like that, especially with the dabbing away little tears! Gotta love them.

On another note, I’m amazed you let him pick out all the music by himself! Sick or not, I’m picking my own entrance music dammit! But then I’ve already decided on it.

They usually use that music for the arrival of dignitaries or royalty at functions…

OMIGOSH! What a FUNNY man!!! You are quite lucky… these days, whenever my honey is funny (he is a riot, really, I don’t know how I get any work done.) I keep making a tiny little wish that he is still this silly and fun in like 60 years. How great will that be? Little 90 year old hubby walkin’ around (in your case) with his undershirt pulled over his head reinacting your wedding march… AWWWWW!!!! SO CUTE!!!

I totally cannot wait to get hitched!

At first, I was wondering whether he had pulled his underwear over his head!

Mr. T did such a great job, maybe you guys can switch places and have him do the walk while you wait at the front! ;)

I had a smile on my face the ENTIRE time. How great to marry someone with a great sense of humor, who can also prove his point through example and a smile :) The song is lovely–great job Mr. Toucan!

Prince of Denmark Waltz/Trumpet Voluntary! Very popular choice, actually… at least since Princess Di walked down the aisle to it. ;)

I used that song for my entrance, as well. It’s beautiful and dramatic. Also, I detest the traditional “Here Come the Bride” number, mostly because I (and several others, I’m sure) are singing in their heads, “All fat and wide!” at the next verse!

That’s hilarious! The big day is getting close! And, just FYI, that music sounds awesome in St. Catherine’s (if we have the same church)… we walked down the aisle to it in my sister’s wedding two weeks ago. I actually have some great pictures of the inside of the church up on my blog now, from the rehearsal - It’s a spectacular spot for pictures. I’m so excited for you!

Hahahahaha…okay, so you are one lucky girl! Any guy who doesn’t mind embarrassing himself like that is awesome.

I totally love his “weeping with the emotion of it all” and the “giddily pointing to friends and family” moves - hi-larious.

You’re a lucky lady, Toucan! And I think that song is a classic choice.

FI keeps making me laugh during our wedding dance classes by doing crazy things like that. I’m always afraid we’re going to get kicked out. ;)

Thanks for sharing, that was just RIDICULOUS and I also am glad to not be the only one with silly antics at home in private. You should somehow get that saved somewhere to watch at your 50th wedding anniversary. Priceless!

That was a riot!! Another plus - if you’re feeling nervous/emotional right before you walk down the aisle, you can visualize this memory and it will put your mind at ease! Thanks for the laugh :-)
