Rehearsal Dinner Deets

June 2nd, 2008 @ 8:32 am by Mrs. Candy Corn

For our rehearsal dinner, which will take place on the eve of our wedding, we’ve decided to go with the super delicious Japanese & Thai restaurant, Teikoku!

This 30-seat Tatami Room would be the location of our dinner!

We will be having an Omakase menu, where guests give the chef authority to prepare what he wants to make for you. That’s the beauty of the Omakase. It’s all about what fresh, seasonal and Chef Chay’s creativity. We can let them know about any dietary restrictions (no MSG for grandma!) and preferences (chicken for the non-beef eaters) and the Chef will customize the menu for our party.

This is the basic menu layout:

First course
House green salad, crispy goat cheese with a yuzu dressing or
Crispy calamari tossed in a mixed green salad and vegetables in a spicy lime dressing

Second course
Seasonal exotic sushi

Third course
Roasted salmon with assorted vegetables in a red curry brandy sauce or
Shrimp pad thai or vegetable fried rice served with a green curry cognac sauce

Fourth course

6 ounce grilled filet mignon served in a spicy teriyaki sauce or
Chicken teriyaki served with sauteed string beans and rice

Dessert
Creme brulee or Teikoku souffle

Is anyone else looking forward to their rehearsal dinner food a little too much? We were lucky enough to have Mr. Candy Corn’s mom & stepfather cover the costs, so I feel super spoiled by all of this being given to us!

I LOVE Teikoku! That’s actually where I took my two MOH’s for lunch to ask them to be in my wedding :-)

I love thai food, and that looks like a beautiful restaurant.

I’m very excited for our rehearsal dinner. FI’s parents will be cooking key dishes and a caterer will be doing the rest. It will just be our immediate families (and the sole non-family bridal party member), it will be a casual but nice BBQ, and all the details will be handled by the caterer and his parents. …it’s actually what we thought our wedding would be like!

YUM! That sounds wonderful… We’re very excited about the rehearsal dinner, which his parents have booked at a french bistro that serves moules frites *and* is handily located across the street from where we’re staying. Woo hoo!!!
