Well hello, hive! Apologies for my week long absence. I’ve been drowning in work these days and also enjoying a much needed break over the long Memorial Day weekend, but now I am back! There is much to report, but first things first.
I was getting ready to discuss clothing options for our upcoming engagement pictures when I realized I’ve never written about our photographers…the shame! Like a lot of other people, photography was the most important thing to me aside from our venue. These are memories we’ll have forever and I wouldn’t trust just anyone to capture them. We interviewed several people in the Chicago area, and just couldn’t find a right match with style and budget. There were some that I loved, but they were too pricey. (The one we did consider seriously for quite awhile was Jeremy Lawson…his style is amazing, he’s super nice, and his prices are really reasonable. If you’re in the area, check him out).
I kept coming back to a bio that I loved, the infamous MrsJuliaGoolia. So eventually I looked up the photographer that they used, and found out that they’re in the St. Louis area. On a whim I sent them an email to see if they travel to Wisconsin and inquired about their rates. And can I just tell you, these people are wonderful!
Meet our photographers, Michael and Lajuanna of Browers Photography. They’re a husband and wife team and they’re coming up to Wisconsin to hang out with us for the entire weekend of our wedding. We’ve talked over the phone and via email so many times that I feel like they’re more a part of the wedding party than our photographers. We just clicked right away. And on top of being fantastic people, they take pictures like this (all images courtesy of Browers Photography):

Swoon. But that’s not all, they also offer Studio B! which is their version of a photo booth without the booth. It’s set up kind of like the old prom pictures, where you stand in front of a blank canvas and get your picture taken. But then they print out 2 pictures in a square of 4 separate poses, one of which our guests will get to take home and the other they put in our guest book and sign next to. They look like this:

And produce some seriously hilarious results…

My family and most of my friends are already planning their series of poses - it’s possible they’re more excited about that than the actual wedding. What’s fun about it not being an actual booth is there is more room for antics and craziness…standing on shoulders, jumping, the possibilities are endless. So there you have it, our photographers. How did you find your photographers? Anyone else using a photo booth/station?
