New Bees and New Characters!

We have a ton of slots opening up in the summer months, so if you haven’t already, send in an application to be a bee today! We’d love to have you join the team! And if you’ve already applied, you should hear from us by the end of this week. 
We also need to start thinking about a new batch of characters. We were thinking of going with drinks - lemonade, cocoa, coffee, cider, champagne, etc. What else would you add? Or do you have suggestions for what our next batch of characters should be?

What about Movie Theater Treats (Miss Popcorn, Miss Chocolate Raisins, Miss Nachos, Miss Licorice Rope)? Or Carnival Treats (Miss Candy Apple, Miss Cotton Candy, Miss Elephant Ear) Or Sea Creatures (Miss Jellyfish, Miss Seahorse, Miss Starfish)? Gemstones (Although everyone just might want to be Miss DIamond for this one, LOL).
Also, I have a request from my guy that their be some more feisty and dangerous options for people to choose. His best suggestions was Fire Ant. Or Pirahna.
Miss Martini would be a good addition!
Even though my wedding is not for over a year, I feel as busy as all the Bees on here. Or, maybe I’m just obsessed with combing blogs for design inspiration. Guess I’ll have to sit tight for a few months before applying.
As for characters, what about tropical (think: destination wedding): flip-flops, palm tree, surfboard, sunglasses, hibiscus flower, lava flow, parrot fish, coral reef, sunscreen, grain of sand (kidding!).
i had applied at the beginning of this year and never heard anything. my weddings in less than 2 months so i guess i missed my chance. 
I’m a scuba diver, so love the idea of sea animals (I call dibs on seahorse- ha!) - dolphin, turtle, anemone, starfish, clam, coral, etc.
How ’bout Miss Sweet Tea or Miss Orange Juice? Miss Milk (lol)! Mmmm.
Maybe you should stick to mostly non-alcoholic drinks… I have nothing against a good Cosmo, but doing so could leave yummy mixed drinks open to be their own generation of bees 
Oooo! I also wish my wedding were a bit closer. We are at just over a year to go right now. I am an avid blogger so as it gets closer I will definitely apply.

New Characters should be different forms of penguins. Arctic Penguins, Australian Penguins, etc. Penguin spawn if you will. Dunno, just a thought. It would probably be good.

One of these days, we’ll run out of names for new bees… we’ll have to start naming them after random household items. Can you imagine it? Miss Paper Towels, Miss End Table, Miss Doorknob, Miss Area Rug…
In all seriousness, articles of clothing could work at some point. Miss Cardigan… Miss Cocktail Dress? I suppose they’d have to be carefully chosen articles - no one wants to be Miss Tube Socks.

How about Sex and the City themes…Mrs. Big, Mz. jOnes (in the hispanic accent when he catches her in bed with the wallstreet guy), Mrs. Charlotte Yokinblatt Miss Stanford :p
How about romantic landmark bees: Eiffel Tower, Empire State…maybe not, it’s hard to compete with the Eiffel Tower.
Random carnival fun bees: ferris wheel, carousel, bumper cars…or cotton candy, funnel cake, taffy apples, popcorn.
Or nutty bees: almond, cashew, walnut, peanut, brazilian?
I love trees too: redwood, maple, aspen, willow, oak, joshua.
I like beanchar’s idea for foodie bees…we’ve got such a wide spectrum of cultures it’d be a nice hat’s off to that. (I hope you heal quickly beanchar!)
I like the drink idea. Very cute. I hate that I can’t apply though. I’d love to be Miss Champagne! Or Mrs. Champagne.

Beverages are interesting. I’d be curious to see what the icons looked like. I want there to be a pink lemonade.
I thought instruments would be quite sophisticated. Miss Viola, Miss Flute, Miss Cello, etc.
Love the shoe idea someone suggested…also love the gemstone idea! Another one could be beauty products?? Miss Lipstick, Miss Blush, Miss Lipgloss, Miss Eyeshadow, Miss Bubblebath, Miss Perfume…just a thought. I applied last week and am keeping my fingers crossed! Oh how I would LOVE to be a BEE! 
The drinks are a cute idea, but you should separate them into categories…”drinks” is pretty broad…

There is already a Mrs. Emerald. There’s also a Mrs. Pearl. I suppose there are some other unused gemstones still out there, though? I recall someone mentioning that Miss Diamond was not a possibility because EVERYONE would want to be Miss Diamond…

I agree that alcoholic drinks and regular drinks should be too different batches. Maybe Miss Gatorade for the sporty bee? Miss Coconut Milk? Miss Pomegranate Juice? Miss Green Tea…

I think the idea of using sea creatures is brilliant. You could have:

I like the drinks idea - it’s 9 Bees in each theme round, right? So, based on your suggestions something like: Lemonade, Tea, Coffee, Cocoa, Cola, Ginger Ale, Milk, Smoothie, Fizzy Water (Miss Fizz for short?). Or all boozy: Martini, Cosmo, Gin and Tonic, Champagne, Merlot, Chardonnay, Microbrew, Lemon Drop, Kamakaze
Maybe threatened/endangered species for another animal theme? Panda (which I think someone mentioned), Tiger, Polar Bear, Eagle, Jaguar, Falcon, Sea Otter, Sea Turtle, Orca, etc. (sadly, the list is pretty long, so there’s lots of choices…)
I LOVE the carnival themed foods idea. Mostly because I’d like to be miss cotton candy :).

I LOVE the ice cream flavors suggestion! And, I really like the idea of splitting up the “drinks” categories into two generations-the second being cocktails. Miss Cherry Cola, Miss Lemonade…etc. for first generation and Miss Lemon Drop, Miss Mimosa, etc. for cocktails. I really love the berry theme generation, too! I think you could do some really cute things with carnival and animal themed groups. You can make herb and spice icons look very pretty, too.
