Paper Stuff!

June 6th, 2008 @ 10:29 am by Mrs. Toucan

Miss Toucan’s been a busy busy bird, so I’m lumping some of my paper projects together in one post! :)

First - Table cards:

Paper Stuff! : wedding diy stationery tabletop June2003Since poor Mr. Toucan hasn’t had very much say in some of the wedding details, so he named all the tables. And wouldn’t you know it - Nintendo characters! The table cards themselves aren’t that exciting - I just printed out pictures of each character and made a little table tent.
Since the tables were named, it’s on to escort “cards!”
Paper Stuff! : wedding diy stationery tabletop Escort01To keep with the somewhat Chinese theme we have going on, I stringed 3 replica I-ching coins together and then attached the guests’ names and table assignments.

Paper Stuff! : wedding diy stationery tabletop AllescAlllll the tags… on a hanger. :P

And lastly menus:
Paper Stuff! : wedding diy stationery tabletop MenusOriginally, I was only going to make 1 per table, but back when White Aisle had their moving sale, I stocked up on letterpress paper and ended up making 1 menu per place setting! I made the menus in alternating colors so that we could alternate by place setting, too. :)

I thought it was really important to have menus out on the table because people unfamiliar with Chinese banquets are often surprised with how much food comes out (10 courses!)! We don’t want people stuffing themselves with just the first few courses!

Anyway, that’s all my papery goodness, for now. :) What wedding paper project do you plan to DIY?

I LOVE your table cards! My boy and I are both Nintendo freaks. Even my mother is, at the age of 60, she has a DS and plays better than I do.

What type of paper and program did you use to make the table numbers?

We are doing classic rock band names and albums and i’m not really sure how to start!

I can’t believe someone else did what I did!
I had DIY table numbers with not just Mario characters but all kinds of video game characters and I also had a Super Mario groom’s cake, although yours look much better than ours.
