I owe many thanks to my fellow bees for introducing me to the Gocco. Let me explain. Like I’ve said, when I first got engaged, I didn’t really know how to plan and I certainly wasn’t aware of any blogs. Truth be told, I didn’t even read blogs and for the most part I still think they can be a dangerous waste of time. But if you know which ones to read, they can be essential to planning the wedding of your dreams.
I wish I could recall the first instance I laid eyes on Weddingbee. It was probably a google search of some sorts. I started reading articles by Mrs. Lemon and Miss (no, Mrs.) Penguin. If you don’t know what a gocco is and you want to be inspired, read through their posts. You will have to get one.
Soon after discovering Weddingbee and the gocco, I discovered Etsy. Oh yes. I can’t fully describe what Etsy means to me, but if you haven’t been there, I promise you won’t be disappointed! (*No, I’m not being paid with etsy goods for this!)
Back on topic, I bought my gocco from Etsy, but I wasn’t quite ready to do anything too critical. Thus, the birth of bridesmaid cards. This is a little embarrassing - because I didn’t have any extra ink at this point, I didn’t even cut any paper. I actually bought plain cards from Michael’s. The point of saying this: if you’re discouraged from buying a gocco because you’re not that creative or you just don’t get it, it’s okay. I didn’t quite get it either and I’m not a graphic designer! The motto is true, practice makes perfect! Please see the evidence, below!
My first attempt: Cute, but boring.
My second attempt: Save-the-Dates! Cute, but still not great. (Don’t worry, I’ll post more about them later!)
My third attempt: My sister’s bridal shower invitation! See, it’s getting BETTER!! (Again, I’ll post more on this, too!)

Have you tried your hand at the gocco yet?
I made my save the dates…first attempt was definitely a flop, but the second design worked great. I did gold print on cream paper. I heart gocco! Need more practice though. So far I have only done one color.
