About Miss Lovebird

Part I
Part II

So these are the final products. My wonderful bridesmaid, Michelle, put all the text on herself since I was too tired from the almost all-nighter we pulled the night before putting the images on. Gocco’ing is rough man! She also mixed her own shade of turquoise ink and used good old black.

It looked similar to this when all put together (just imagine it with text):

And here they are ready to go:

I love the image that shows up on the front and overlaps onto the envelope flap! To save money on getting a calligrapher, I just used good old Avery mailing labels I already had and Michelle created an image for them that went with our theme. I also used the flower stamps to keep with the floral theme.

Here’s a breakdown of the estimated costs:

Prismatic Paper: $59.95
Gocco and Ink: $162.50
Ribbon: $5.95
Envelopes: $21.80
Corner Punch: $5.00
Invisible Ink Pens: $2.00
Invitation Stamps: $41.00
RSVP Stamps: $26.00
Address Labels: Already had them
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Total for 100 Invites: $324.20
Cost Per Invite: $3.25
Spending time with your friends to make your wedding invitations: Priceless!
Would you or did consider making your own invitations? How did it pan out?
very pretty invitations. i did notice one thing though… you used $0.41 and $0.26 stamps!!! you need to add one cent to all of those as the cost of stamps has increased a penny. i hope you haven’t mailed them yet!
Those are great! I gocco’d mine too and love them. It was definitely worth the time and ink-stained hands to hear everyone’s reactions.
I LOVE the wrapping envelope detail. It was actually one of the inspiration pics I gave to our super-talented MFA friend who made our custom illustrations. In addition to the main drawing, she included several smaller bits for layering in, curling around corners and the like.
Aside from the letterpress printing for the main invite, we’re making our own invitations. The design was custom based on the art from our friend and we’re in the process of making fold-out envelopes and RSVP cards. Fun times!
@Belle: Thank you! I still plan on using my gocco in the future, sorry. I just looked on ebay and they have a few over there. Where are you located? If you are in the city, you are more than welcome to come borrow it if you can get your hands on some supplies…
