To Do The ‘Do

June 12th, 2008 @ 3:25 pm by Mrs. Bubblegum

Thanks to the wonderful advice of reader, Cindy, I found an AMAZING place to get my hair did for the wedding - Illusions in Saco, ME did a fanTABulous job on everyone’s hair.

To be honest, I was worried. When I went in for my trial, I was a little disappointed. The curls fell out rather quickly (I had washed my hair that day, plus she used a wider barrel, plus she didn’t hairspray much), and I was worried about the “stay” factor. However, she assured me that she knew what to do to correct it next time (in particular, “spray the heck out of it”), and I felt decent about that.. but who knew it would turn out great the next time around. It stayed curled all night, despite my rainy trip to the car and my photos taken in the drizzle:

One of my bms got her hair done with me - in a french twist that did not budge (and required half an hour in the shower to take down):

The best part was, the mommies came along too - both my mom and MIL had not set foot in a salon in over a decade (MIL says 15 years, my mom says 35)!!!!!! SO I was super excited to see them get their hair chopped and styled. :) MIL got a fancy schmancy up-do:

And my mommy got it cut in a cute bob that they curled at the ends. Somehow, we failed to capture her look in the salon (she’s elusive like that), but here she is later that day (the pretty lady in the gray):

So, as there were four of us, that’s eight thumbs up for Illusions!!
