Groomsmen Gifts

June 16th, 2008 @ 11:25 am by Mrs. Lovebird

Mr. Lovebird and I wanted to splurge a little on our bridal party gifts. We wracked our brains for weeks trying to think of something to get these guys, and decided on something any guy would love. And since we didn’t want to bring these somewhat big and heavy gifts all the way to Mexico, we thought we would have a little groomsmen get-together beforehand. We just invited them over to our place for some food and games and said “prizes will be awarded.”

Of course we had to have beer, a homage to our first wedding DIY project/groomsmen get-together.

Though they were a little suspicious about the reason behind the get-together, I don’t they think they had any idea. So we munched on some food, had a few beers, played some Mariokart on the Wii and watched some “Hitched” on t.v.

Then came time for the gift giving. We got five 20gb Xbox 360s and one Nintendo DS Lite with the game “Trauma Center: Under the Knife” for our groomsman Henry since there was a higher chance of him actually playing the DS with his hectic schedule (he’s a doctor).

Only half of them showed up, figures! Our wonderful best man, Ernie, got a pair of Oakleys as well, which was perfect because he needed a pair of sunglasses. I think they liked their gifts cuz Oliver, the guy all the way to the right kept saying, “are you serious???” Young, the guy in the middle was like, “I’m going to sell my PS3 now!” It made us so happy to see our friends happy!

What did you get your groomsmen? Did you find it hard to find something they all would like?

dang! i wish we could be as generous with our bridal party..alas, we are poor so our groomsmen will be getting $20 gift cards to Best Buy or something. We figured instead of getting something they may or may not use..a gift card would be the easiest thing.

My FI received an ipod shuffle for the last wedding he was in–he loves it and uses it constantly. At $50 I think it’s a reasonable gift so we may do that for our men too.

We are probably going to give them just their tie, and maybe some money towards their flight. I wish we could do more, but everything is so stretched already!

Miss Lovebird- what awesome and generous gifts! I think it’s great when people choose to allot time and money to spoiling their families and bridal parties- I’m sure your groomsmen were so excited and thankful!
