About Mrs. Green Tea

Memory Lane

June 16th, 2008 @ 8:32 am by Mrs. Green Tea

I love thoughtful details. Sure, I ooo and ahh at letterpress menus and pintuck satin linens like the rest of them, but I’d rather take a DIY program with a funny haiku or a well told story any day. I’m not sure whether that makes me easy or hard to impress…

I adore this idea kandr came up with, lining an entrance pathway with their pictures from childhood chronologically, inviting guests to start from their beginnings down to their wedding day:

See the rest of their wedding HERE. They also had a fantastic reception ‘reveal’. How awesome it is to open up doors to your guests and hear a gasp of excitment!

I love the idea of using childhood photos. It would be a huge undertaking for us though. Mr. P and I went to a wedding recently with a slide show and he loved the idea. So, I put him in charge :) Depending on what he (if he) decides to do there may be some “little one” photos of us on the big day.

Have you noticed that you have become such a sap since you got engaged? I have! I am sitting here looking at that and thinking how beautiful that your guest have been there from the beginning and they are able to be witnesses to two lives that started on seperate paths to be joined together at the end of that path. OMG :’( I

Just make sure you use copies, so you don’t have to fret about the originals…especially at the end of the night when things get packed up in a jiff.

Rats — I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I can’t see any of the photos on kandr’s bio — they’re all red X squares.

I like that these photographs are posted along a path - carrying the metaphor. So how about doing this as part of the receiving line, as they can be long with large weddings?

@Shay: Yes I have, and it’s pathetic
@Angel: I’m not actually using this idea, I just thought it’s neat to share. I am incorporating photos in my wedding though and I will make sure I make copies. Good looking out :)
@woman007: Even though I’m not having a receiving line, I still think that’s frickking genius!
