Bridesmaid Gifts

June 18th, 2008 @ 2:55 pm by Ms. Dahlia

I couldn’t blog about it before the wedding (since I know that some of the ladies in the bridal party read this), but I wanted to share what I did to thank the lovely ladies who stood up with me.Borrowing heavily from Mrs. Onion, I got a couple of small items for each woman, put together nicely and these awesome storage containers from Ikea.

Each box contained one of the following:

1 pair of earrings from Dasha Boutique, with each pair selected specifically for the lady.

1 Threadless t-shirt, again a different one for each lady, based on their own interests.

1 cosmetic bag from J. Crew

and

1 soap in a jar from Etsy seller dennisanderson, each a different scent. (I’d highly recommend ordering from Dennis- the soaps smelled absolutely amazing, and turnaround time on the order was really fast.)

Each of the lovely women seemed to really like their gift, and appreciate the thought that went into selecting personalized gifts.

What are you giving to your attendants?

I thought that shirt looked familiar! I love threadless. Another good one is shirt.woot.com. Awesome gifts!

Oh! Very cool gifts! I like how they are similar, but individualized.

I’m paying for two nights at a hotel for my MOH (my only BM). That’s already more than what I was planning on spending, so I don’t think I’ll be getting anything else. It makes me sad, because I see all these great ideas which make me think of gifts I’d like to put together!

I am sewing each girl a clutch in fun fabric that matches their personality and each clutch will have a necklace to wear day-of inside. It would be fun to have a little extra, and I like the soap idea!
I think I will also pay for day-of hair styles for the 2 girls interested (who, incidently, were the helpful ‘maids vs the absentee ‘maids, so it’s perfect.

I got them a few small things including a fun too faced makeup pallette, a travel jewlrey case from tossdesigns.com, and a gold pendent with the letter of their first name to put in the case. Got the makeup for a steal on this new site called beautycrunch.com– they have stila, duwop and toofaced makeup at 40-60% off!

I’ve been obsessed with looking at all of Threadless’s t-shirts for awhile, and was curious if anyone had comments on how they run size-wise. Does their “measure-your-favorite-t-shirt” method work?
Thanks!

I got them each a personalized bowl from Paloma’s Nest. For my MOH (who is my sister) I got some princess cut diamond stud earrings since she’s wanted some forever and for my bridesmaid I paid for her dress to help with her finances.

Purse from Coach factory store, handmade blue & white crystal necklace, color coordinated spa slippers & spa robe, reusable foot forms, sephora lip butter, sephora spa headband, sephora facial towellettes, 4 pack cans of sofia coppola pink sparkling wine, manicure/pedicure, 1 hour massage, tote bag from Wal Mart to store everything in and an encrusted initial to identify their bag, bridesmaid dress, makeup and hair on the day of. The 3 girls did so much for me, went so much out of their way for me, and did a lot of travelling for me, plus i saved on a lot of money from certain areas and decided to splurge a little more on them.
