A Heartfelt Gift

June 20th, 2008 @ 11:04 am by Mrs. Jasmine

About a month ago, Mr. Jasmine and I were taking a walk in his West Loop neighborhood. We passed by a store, Smitten, that was to open in a few weeks. I peeked through the windows and to my delight, I found that it was a wedding store. I could see a beautiful frame inside and I vowed to return when the store opened so I could buy it.

On Smitten’s opening day, I returned with Mr. Jasmine to buy the frame. What can I say? I’m a super-focused shopper. I was obsessed with having this frame for our home. Then, Mr. J had to reveal some news: he’d already contacted the owner of the store to purchase the frame. It was going to be a wedding gift for me. I was a little bummed that I’d ruined the surprise, but also ecstatic that he had purchased the frame for me! And that only meant he ended getting me another wedding gift ;)

The frame arrived today and it’s every bit as beautiful as I remembered. It features a line from one of my favorite e.e. cummings poems:

We used a wonderful wedding photo from our photographer Marisa Holmes– it has a lovely vintage feel to it.

The photobox frames are custom-made by Sugarboo Designs.

Each frame is hand-painted and hand-made using real wood and painted finishes that create a rustic, vintage look. They feature a variety of designs using quotes, poems, and verses. I think these make such lovely wedding gifts. Mr. J and I just purchased one for his best friend and his fiancee. And I can’t wait to hang up our frame in our new home :)

What was your favorite wedding gift?

Love love love it! We used the same quote for our ring bowl. The photos is perfect for the style of the frame. And don’t worry, Mrs. J… I am also a very dedicated shopper. :)

@SandP09: If you contact Sugarboo with your zip code, they’ll let you know what nearby retailers carry the frames. Maybe a store in your area sells them!

I love, love, love that frame. I’m going to have to figure out how to get my hands on the Winnie the Pooh one that says, “If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I would never have to live without you.” Adorable.

Awesome!! We plan to use “I have found the one whom my soul loves.” on our wedding invitation. This would be a great addition to the guestbook table and later in our house. Thanks for sharing!

If you are on the east coast in Philadelphia area or Jersey Shore, you can find these sweet Sugarboos at one of my fav stores - Trendz in Stone Harbor NJ. They have many awesome designs in stock. Soooo heartfelt! Rockin’ gallery for art concious gifts large & small.

My favorite wedding gift was an antique western style writing desk with a (not a rolltop) - when you open it it’s orange inside with lots of cubbies.
