I’m baaaacccckkkk! The honeymoon was fabulous and both Mr. Penguin and I are well rested and easing back into our normal lives. One of my favorite parts about coming back home is that Mr. Penguin has returned back to work wearing his wedding ring. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside seeing him head off to work with that ring on his hand. I feel like a dog who’s peed on her territory. Check the ring! He’s mine bitches!
Anyway, I’m just sitting back and waiting for our pro pics to come in, but until then, I hope to share a few things about the wedding without spoiling it all!
On Friday, we had an early 3PM rehearsal. Our venue pretty much forced us to do the early rehearsal, which was really inconvenient for our bridesmaids and groomsmen that drove in from LA that day. But the great thing about the early rehearsal was that my bridesmaids and I had time before dinner to pop into my favorite nail shop, where I treated them to a mani/pedi. We popped some champagne in the massage chairs, and had a blast getting groomed!

I couldn’t afford to pay for full hair/makeup for my bridesmaids. Luckily none of them wanted pro hair or makeup, especially since I was wearing my hair down for my wedding so none of them really needed a fancy do. But I was glad that I could treat them to a mani/pedi. Believe it or not, it was my MOH’s FIRST PEDICURE EVER. No kidding!
Our rehearsal dinner was more like a pre-wedding. Surprisingly, I was much more emotional at the rehearsal than I was at the wedding. Seeing our out-of-town guests for the first time there was overwhelmingly wonderful! My excitement level was really really high that night. I know a lot of girls would prefer a smaller, intimate dinner to the big ol’ pre wedding bash…even I initially thought our dinner was a little large (60 people). But in the end, it was just the best thing ever…there were no details to take care of, no knickknacks or centerpieces or endless to-do lists…just great food and a great party!

My mom (2nd from left) and all her sisters…this is the first time they’ve all been in the same place at the same time in at least 15 years!

Mr. Penguin’s dad making a beautiful speech…

…and Mr. Penguin and I watching…

As with Emily and Chad’s wedding (Mr. Peng’s step-sister and BIL, front) we sat at the “kids” table full of Mr. Penguin’s siblings and dates.

I don’t know what’s happening here. But it’s pretty much what Mr. Penguin and I usually look like. Me with a gross face, him just trying to tolerate it.
At the end of the night, I headed home with my MOH and family, and went over all the DIY centerpiece details with my MOH’s sister, Jenny Louwheeeezzzzeeeee (Below, left). It was great spending time with my 2nd family the night before the wedding (our officiant was their Mom) and relaxing before the big day. All in all, a great relaxing prelude to the big day!
