my favorites list has become my wedding planning - i bookmark all inspirations or vendors and organize the folders with categories. it’s easy to pull back up and have other info available on the page that i might not have gathered the first time through. This book would be perfect for me though, as my method is obviously not very portable! =)
I’m using an accordion folder with different tabs, but it’s not the best. I should have gone with a binder, so I can flip through everything.
OMG- I totally need this… right now I just fold up sheets of paper and keep them in my purse! My FI knows never to open anything that is folded!!
so far i have an empty black binder.. and tons of emails i send to myself with links of great websites for ideas! haha terrible.
i have been keeping a running document for years with things i love.
soon i will approach the task of dwindling everything down and finding a great way to organize! scary/exciting task!
OMG. Of all the giveaways you have done, thi si sby far the one I want the most! For organization I have been using a file box plus some online tools. But the Mindy Weiss planner would be a dream come true!
I am working with several different systems…I always carry around a notebook for ideas, I have an electronic folder dedicated to e-mails and inspiration. A planner would be awesome!
I use backpackit to organize my photos, documents and lists. I love it and I love that I can access it from any computer. I am starting to suspect that google may have similar capabilites for free though…
This book would be great though as I’m a paper girl at heart!
http://www.backpackit.com
I save any pictures I see on the internet to different folders in my computer so I’m not printing out a ton of stuff. I would love this planner!
my fiancee and i used google documents to keep spreadsheets of everything from guest lists to the budget. it worked really well because we could access them from anywhere. we kept our paper materials (menus from venues, business cards, fliers, etc) in a 3 ring binder at home. but google documents was a lifesaver!
google documents and notebook! i share everything with the FI and our parents and can update information from any computer. they are easy to use and tremendous resources.
AHHHHHHHHH! It’s beautiful. Pick me, pick me!! Right now, I just use an old notebook and the Internet. Blah.
I bought a wedding planner with pockets in it from the bookstore about 2 days after I got engaged! It is not the best, unfortunately. I cut way too many things out of magazines! And it had no spot to store ideas for the bridal party, or favor ideas, so I labeled pocket files & put them in there myself.
I love Mindy’s line & would really love a chance to try this organizer out instead!! It seems much neater & cleaner & probably a lot better laid out!
i am a fan of google documents as well! i also have a bright pink binder with sheet protectors and tabs to keep all the gorgeous pictures i tear out of magazines. so fun to flip through!
I keep a Word document on my computer desktop that I paste “inspiration” into, but this binder would definetly keep things more prganized and portable!
I have a hilroy green ugly notebook that i have my ideas and notes in. Its pathetic and ripping badly LOL. I use google and yahoo to store my files and good old excel. I usually run to my FH’s iPhone to show pics from my email b/c my Hilroy book is embarassing to bring out.
I use google notebook & google picasa’s site to upload pictures for inspiration
I use a binder that has everything in it, and Excel is Godsend!
I have a notebook where I am writing everything down in and I have a long TO DO list in there. I also have a 10 pocket file folder to keep all my documents organized.
omg! that binder is so nice!
I don’t even have an organized system yet. i just have a shopping bag full of papers… including 2 of my contracts… yikes!
I love the color! I could seriously use this. I’m like Samantha from SATC with all my post-its.
I have a 3-ring binder as the “idea” binder and I have a 3-ring binder that is the “reality” binder that I put stuff into once we get a contract and stuff like that. Then I put things that I find on the internet that I like onto a kaboodle page that I have. Considering how much stuff I find online, kaboodle.com is just a godsend! ![]()
I have a three ring binder to supplement me daily planner , but i still end up with post-it notes all over the house. I also dry erase markers on my mirrors on the UBER important dates. a little odd but it works!
This would match the accordian notebook I have from her!
Oh, I could really use this! So far, I do everything on my laptop & occassionally “delegate” to my FH by sending him links to take care of…can you tell we are both techies? but of all people we should know a hard drive failure is all too possible!
so far I have been saving files electronically of all my ideas and lists
I plan on printing them out and organizing them some how ![]()
Google Documents is a lifesaver. I keep lists and spreadsheets there.
I have a planner that I bought at Target and an accordion folder with clippings from magazines, brochures from vendors, etc. I also keep photo albums on my computer of pictures that inspire me.
I would LOVE to have something that’s portable though!
I stuff everything in an accordion folder. I put labels on the tabs, but I usually just stuff things where there’s room!
I also have images in folders on my hard drive. It’s a tad more organized than my folder.
I’m definitely not the most organized person, but at the moment, I’ve been keeping track of ideas etc with google docs, and a blog.
But it’s not enough. And now that I’m a year out from the wedding, I’m going to need an organizer like the one posted above!!
I use a binder that is color coordinated. White paper is for my own purposes like pictures of wedding dresses that I am interested or little notes of things I have to do. Red is what my fiance has to do. I make sure he updates it every few weeks. As for pink, that is for my MOH and bridemaid to update, on what they have done and what they will do. We e-mail each other to have a get together every few weeks if anything has been changed. Then there is Excel. We use Excel to update our guest list. This way its programmed to know how many are coming instead us of having to re-count every time, as well as an organized way of mailing list. I bought some highlighters as well. to highlight things that i have done and some specific things that I think are more important than others. Never cross out anything because you seriously want to somtimes read over things to make sure you’ve done it or even to recap. Reading over what I just typed I feel that I’m like some kind of maniac.
I have a Mindy Weiss file folder. Great for contracts and pages ripped out of magazines. This would be so much better (and it would match!)
I’m all about Microsoft OneNote, Excel, and many, many bookmarks! Oh and then there’s lists upon lists in my paper notebook and dozens of doodles in my planner. Sign me up for this great giveaway ![]()
currently i have a sloppily-arranged binder of my own. this planner would be so helpful!
Excel table for budget and bookmarks for websites. I also started a ‘planning bio’ website which really helps to put all of the ideas together.
i am so messy…. i don’t have any organization methods. this binder would really help me get on the right track. love the color too.
My precious wedding folder on my computers deskot.
I copied it to my computer at work as well… out of fear that my hard drive will explode and i’ll have nothing left!!
I have tons of stuff bookmarked online by different categories, various files, and TONS of post-its on my desktop. I would L-O-V-E this binder, though, to get me on a better track!
Lists, just lists… I really need that planner to keep me on track. A good friend of mine had a SUPER wedding binder, but she is FAR more organized then me.
I use a normal planner, which definitely does not have all these amazing sections in it ![]()
I use my laptop… it’s easier and all filed in a specific folder… thanks to Excel and Word! I also have a binder for receipts, picture-ideas from a magazines and catalogs, sample invitations and more!
My moleskine notebook, google documents, google calendar, and a folder packet with lots of sleeve space!
I’ve been using a spiral notebook to keep everything together - ideas, photo ideas, favor ideas, and I’ve been gluing mock-ups into the notebook. I also have a binder for contracts and magazine tear-outs. This would be great to have!
Spreadsheets! Lots of spreadsheets and a binder for all of the loose items.
google doucments has worked well and I have stored the mother of all to-do lists…from the tiny stuff like “make sure i have a small shawl or throw for my grandma” or “make sure cousing X doesnt sneak in alcohol”to the big ones like “pay $X,XXX to vendor X”. I literally sat at my desk and visualized every minute of the wedding and jotted down things that need to be made, bought, or arranged. My Fiancee said “cool we dont have much left to do” and i said “umm try opening the to-do list, dear!”
But i do need a physical place to carry stuff since its getting to the point where i need to keep copies of contracts and other paper stuff…im gonna shut my eyes and wish really hard for the organizer!
I don’t stay organized! I’ve been engaged for well over a year and have yet to set a date. I’ve used Excel to start a guest list and powerpoint to save inspiration pics. I’ve yet to schedule or meet with any vendors, a planner would really help!
I use a binder to hold all the handouts I receive and spreadsheets!
google docs! and binders with clear page protectors for my ripped out magazine pages. I’d love a pretty planner though. ![]()
A spreadsheet… but i’m screwed when i’m out and about and my computers at home!! ![]()
One word: Excel! Between all my lists, reminders, links, and ideas, Master Wedding Spreadsheet.xls has been come my personal wedding assistant. I also have a binder of inspirational ideas, but I could use something more like this planner to keep me on track through the upcoming months.
Google calendar and excel spreadsheets. I love them both but this planner would be a gorgeous way to keep everything together.
Excel! And lots of manila folders. This planner would be so useful!
I don’t stay organized at all, which is a huge problem! Having Mindy Weiss’s wedding planner would definitely motivate me to start.
I have a notebook where I make my lists and jot down ideas. I tried using an accordion file to keep brochures and other info in, but it filled up too fast. I could really use a planner like this!
I keep organized via a good ol’ fashioned HUGE 3 ring binder and a thin calendar notebook from the dollar store. I’m not very good at keeping organized thru excel and google calendar (though I started to) - I’m better at keeping it non-tech, which is why this Mindy Weiss planner would be perfect.
I have a plastic pocket folder where I just slip in all my papers and carry around with me. I’ll use flags if it’s important to stand out….I think it costs like 2 cents!!
I have one “wedding” folder for EVERYTHING I have saved in my bookmarks on my PC, and then a single spiral-bound notebook with ripped out pages of magazines paperclipped, folded up print-outs, and a folder tucked in the back for important documents such as contract, etc. Obviously, it’s not the best system. My bridesmaids and mother have teased me for my lack of organization, and they’re right, it’s time to upgrade!
I track expenses with excel. For everything else, I use a handy dandy binder.
I’m using google notebook, mostly. It’s nice because I can share things with my MOH and BMs. I also have actual paper things in clear sleeves in a binder. My guestlist is all on google docs too.
i’m using a wedding binder as well as my personal favorite, google!
I email everything to myself (pictures, websites, ideas, etc.) and then I have them with me even when I’m not at home. This had come in handy as a way of showing flower ideas to florists and cake ideas to bakers. I love how you can search your messages through gmail! As far as actually staying organized, I am beginning to think that I’m not organized at all.
I use a wedding binder to keep myself somewhat “organized”… or at least I tell myself I’m organized - hehe.
Like Hannah and the others, Post-it notes are my best friend. I love the index cards that stick to the wall but not to each other!
I’ve just been writing anything in a normal spiral bound notebook and keeping fabric swatches in a ziplock back.
Everyday I email myself links and ideas from my work email to my personal one. I then categorize all these ideas into one of my million excel spreadsheets and tabs. I am an excel champion. I then print out some of my tables if necessary and carry those around in a manila folder. This would be handy for holding on to the magazine clippings, etc!
My sister/MOH bought me the traditional big ol’ wedding planner, which now at 1.5 years of planning is held together with packing tape
And the rest spread electronically between my work computer, home computer, and parent’s computer…. not the best idea!
I have a file of photo inspirations for absolutely everything - cakes, shoes, etc.! And I have an Outlook folder just for wedding e-mails ![]()
The “Wedding” folder of my favorites list has become godzilla sized, I also email some things to myself, combined with a 3-ring binder with several sheet protectors full of things I’ve ripped out of magazines, the menu selections for my dream venue (the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO). Yeah, it’d probably be a good idea to consolidate all this stuff. Kinda like my student loans.
I bought a Martha Stewart planner, but the binder promptly came apart from the binding. Now, I am using Excel, a separate email folder and a plain binder. Not very exciting!
Oh….this is the most beautiful planner I’ve seen!!
Right now, I have papers upon papers and a lot excel files….
I have a couple of binders. One for inspiration and one to organize all the paper. I really like using clear hole punched folders to keep everything together. The regular pockets work well but things still hang out. I also have been using Google Docs non-stop. Since I am on the road a lot, I can see all my work anywhere I travel. I love gmail folders too!
i use my computer to organize my files into folders and sub folders
I have a bulging binder and a notebook that I carry with me and a big ol box.
I have an accordian style folder for business cards and pamphlets etc - a photo album full of magazine clippings, a little blue notebook and the rest (and most oft used) is my Gmail account. I label the wedding stuff and also by what aspect of the wedding it relates to. There are lots and lots of “draft” emails where i store useful links and thoughts. This way, I never have to carry it and I can reach it from any computer! And of course - to top it all off - google reader is my saving grace! =)
I was just thinking about this the other day!
del.icio.us ALL THE WAY!
(I swear I didn’t plan for that to rhyme.)
best giveaway ever! i’ve been saving pictures and notes to myself in my gmail account, it would be fantastic to have something to carry around! and the binder is so adorable!!
I put every last wedding related thing into “the binder”. My family makes fun of me because I accidentally forgot it when I went to a caterer tasting and got all freaked out. You should see this thing though- it’s an old 3-ring binder from my old job and this cute planner would be much nicer to tote around!
I have an excel sheet that keeps track of my guest list, gifts, budget, events, and timelines. I also have a binder that has EVERYTHING including a three hole punch in the front so I can add contracts or ripped pages of magazines to it for inspiration. Above all, google is my Godsend.
I would LOVE this to help though!
My fiance, bless his heart, brought me this huge wedding binder from Barnes and Noble. It is good to have at home, but I cannot travel with it. The Mindy Weiss planner would be perfect to take to vendor meetings.
I keep a basic three ring binder with separated sections of the wedding, i.e…dj, venue etc. I’ve labeled the binder the “Monica” binder after Monica’s infamous wedding binder from the tv show Friends. I also keep a separate email address just for wedding related items. I also keep an online folder for all wedding related bookmarks which is called…of course…the ‘Monica Folder.’ I’m keeping track of some financial items on WeddingWire. Our wedding isn’t until august 09 but the amount of info and paper is adding up quickly!!
I have a file of inspiration pictures, a file of panning documents, and a 2-inch three ring binder that zips closed. We have also set up a Google group so our parents, our coordinator, and my dress maker can all be on one page this summer, as my FI and I are both interning in different states.
Well, I’ve only been engaged a week now so I wouldn’t say I’m very organized YET. I started an Excel spreadsheet to help me keep track of things but this is exactly what I need…love it!
I have a HUGE three ring binder that I have plastic sleeves in to hold swatches, magazine tear outs, and lists. It’s divided into attire, food, entertainment, decor, flowers, and a million other sections!
Also, Google Docs is where the guest list lives- so my groom, mothers, etc can all edit and update addresses!
The Mindy Weiss Planner is significantly more gorgeous than my makeshift system. Plus the colors of my wedding are baby blue and chocolate brown!
I made my own binder because nothing in the store had all the sections I needed. This one looks incredible (and way prettier than mine)!
FILE BOXES! different one for each aspect! Ceremony, Reception, Attire!!!! It really helps
EXCEL + Google docs. I could never survive the wedding season without them both! Plus google docs allows me to share all my information with my bridesmaids and fiance.
Warning, I am a little OCD: The master Excel spreadsheet is the basis of everything, but I’ve created a binder for contracts, Powerpoint spreadsheets for images, google calendar for schedules, and, of course, 1400 yellow stickies in my everyday planner.
Excel and Word have become my favorites to keep track of things [sites, links, etc.]
I’ve been using post-it notes, a binder and google documents! This would be so awesome!
Note book with folders and tabs, but this organizer would help even more!
Excel spreadsheets and 3-ring binders organized by category!
I only enter contests for stuff I really want. I REALLY want this.
I use MS Excel spreadsheets for keeping an eye on the budget. I keep a file organizer box stuffed with files. I put the big item folders first ( like ceremony and reception vendors), then put the little extraneous items in a seperate file. If its something I must have at the wedding, it goes in the first folders. If its something I can put off or do with out, it goes to the back of the organizer
I have a free with purchase RB wedding planner, this would definately be an upgrade and make my life easier.
I use excel for everything, the budget, lists of vendors, ideas for the reception, favors, flowers, etc. It’s sort of obsessive and annoying because I have to print stuff out. Would love the planner!!
I’m using Google Documents for a lot of things, and sharing them with my fiance. I’ve also been using the tracker on http://www.weddingwire.com and it’s been somewhat helpful.
I also have a 3 ring binder at home with a bunch of magazine clippings, post cards, etc in it, but I’m worried it’s about to explode…
My other tool has been using del.icio.us to track all my favorites that I find on the web. It’s been really helpful for tracking things like invitations, cake, favors, favorite wedding bee posts, etc.
OMG!!! I was just going to go out and buy one like this sometime this weekend! It looks perfect! I do everything so far on my computer, but I don’t get too much accomplished when I have to go searching for different documents, etc. I also need some of the tips and advice (things to not overlook) that a book like this would provide. So far its only been the bees helping me, and as fabulous as they are, I need it to apply to my life…
I use Excel to keep track of costs, budgets, etc. and an old folder for all my contracts. I also carry around a little notebook to jot ideas/ reminders/ numbers down in. I could sooo use a planner.
I’m so sadly unorganized. I have tons of booksmarks on FireFox and a file on my desktop sectioned out into folders. But mostly I end up with post it notes in the bottom of my purse of websites to look at when I get home or notes from illegally reading WeddingBee at work
Help a girl get organized… Please.
So far I’ve mainly been using Excel to keep things organized as well as Google Reader and Calendar and a massive favorites files for websites! This would be so much help!
binder + google docs. man, technology makes life so much easier, doesn’t it?
I’m a technology girl all the way - gmail, google docs, etc. Now if only I had a smartphone!
I like that handle! I just bought a regular 3 ring binder and some folder dividers - I’ve been “filing” my bridal mail and postcards in the respective sections. I plan on snipping magazine pages i like and dropping them in the binder, too.
I also have a multi-tab excel spreadsheet we are using. My FH file shared my desktop wedding folder so we are both always up to date with each other - plus I would drop in photos of wedding bands I like!
I’ve got about five partial organizations systems. This would be perfect to get them all in one place!
I have one ugly black binder, but a new baby blue one would be marvelous!
I made a book to stay organized, but realized during the process that being all day long in front of a computer it was just easier that way. Excel, ppt, word, calendars… but if I want to show a details to someone I get stuck.. It is on my computer and I forgot to print it out!
i am in love with google documents - i have spread sheets word docs and powerpoint presentations shared with many of the people involved in the wedding - i also found a really cute vera bradly hard covered accordian file with notepad - i keep contracts and pictures in there - but i would love to have something like this as well!
Combination of e-mails, accordion folder with matching notebook and a flash drive where I store lots of images and ideas. I LIVE on my computer lately.
Oh my goodness - I need this!!! I personally made myself a binder with seperators… nothing fancy! But I also kept a lot of things organized on my laptop, which I think my fiance is ready to throw out the window since I spend more time with it then him!! But my best friend in the whole world just got engaged & you’re looking at the MOH!! She was asking about something to keep herself organized and this would be a perfect engagement gift!!
i made myself a binder with tabs. nothing very special, but of course very useful
i print out most of inspiration pictures that i found online and put it all together in the binder. i also keep all the vendor info and receipts here.
we also organize everything digitally. we have one big Excel file with EVERYTHING… the to-do list, the budget, guests address, everything.
this particular mindy weiss organizer has always been something i wanted since the beginning of my planning!
I love Google Notebook for bookmarking sites I like and being able to come back to them later.
so far just google docs but a binder would be super helpful.
I’m using an accordion folder, but I really wish a had started with a binder!
Not very well organized, which is why I could totally use this!
I made a wedding checklist so I’ll know what and when to do things like booking the suppliers, etc. I also made a budget template in Excel and also listed down things that we need to have, want to have, and nice to have in the wedding. All of these is stored in our laptop and if it gets busted, so is our wedding
![]()
Papers, binders and a spiral notebook. I know I sound ancient, I need this planner bad!!!:)
I am not staying organized… that is why I need this planner! I have some stuff in a binder, some stuff online… and some things in my desk at home. I also have a few things in my wallet and at my desk at work. Oh that is so sad!!!
i use weddingwire.com and have two huge binders. 1 binder was for all the ‘possible’ vendors (in case a future bride friend wants to use it) and the smaller one is for the ‘booked’ vendors.
a binder full of ideas, and good ol’ pen to paper for lists, etc. =p
Organized? What’s that? :p
I do have a notebook. But since we’ve still got a ways to go, there’s not much in there yet.
I have a binder that i slip magazine inspirations in, as well as our contracts and important paperwork…but OMG that organizer is GORGE! it’s an organized bride’s dream!!
i have a specific email to keep our correspondence with suppliers in one account.
and all my signed contract is in a plastic envelope.
I have an Itouch that has all my inspiration pictures so its easier to explain to suppliers what the whole look is.
but that would be such a dream folio to get me organized!
pick me! pick me!
i rely mainly on spreadsheets, diagrams, emails and folders/files. ![]()
Ahhh.. planning
I have an excel file with 5 tabs: invitations, headcount, tables, rehearsal, and bridal showers
Also have file folders under my main outlook box - “The Wedding” - folders include: honeymoon, hair and makeup, invitations, the dress, etc…
I’m also use office one note to capture all pictures I find on the web for inspiration
And.. last but not least I have my paper old school binder for all contracts and clips from magazines. I also have a wedding little notebook in my colors which has my to do’s … and weekly schedule.
My wedding planning has stayed organized thanks to a generic 3-ring binder I bought at Staples. I added some dividers and I use a 3-hole puncher. They are doing the job….but I really want this pretty, super-organized planner. It would make me a better WeddingBee. ![]()
I have several sites bookmarked along with magazine articles. This planner will be of great assistance to me. *Plus it’s blue, which is my favorite color and one of my wedding colors.
I started super organized with a three ring binder, plastic sleeves and dividers. With the surge of wedding magazines I kept smuggling into the apartment, the three ring binder was not enough. So I added a binder for one to be items done or in process and the other for items still researching and just starting. Now, I do not allow magazines in the apartment and have started to google organize everything. I actually just tossed 75 % of the magazine clippings or vendor information or honeymoon advertisement I had. woo hoo! Now its time to go back to the planner for I will be travelling to our destination wedding site for the last time before the wedding in three months.
Try to keep everything in electronic form. Saves paper and you can search for files easily.
I started making my own wedding planner based off of ones i’ve seen… but i just feel like SOMETHING will be left out. i’m about two years out, so i’ve just booked marked about 1-200 websites/links for a later organization time… a good planner would totally help
So far I have utilized my favorites button to the max. As for paper organization, I have put together a 3-ring binder full of all my favorite ideas. I keep a folder with all my contracts and I have all of my appointments and vendor contact info. with the contracts and on my PDA.
I have a binder and an excel spreadsheet. My father laughs at my organizational skills because he says i’m bordering on obsessive. Hey, I can’t help it im organized! It keeps me sane.
Every single one of my vendors has also commented on my skills. hehe.
My fiancé is a CPA, so naturally Microsoft Excel is his organizational drug of choice. I’ve got to hand it to him- it’s quite practical (just like him :)- the way it quickly sums guest lists, easily breaks out the budget into percentages, etc… The drawback: it’s pretty blasé and doesn’t let me conceptualize the wedding from a creative/design-based perspective. Adding a Mindy Weiss planner to the mix would just be the icing on the wedding planning cake!
i’m totally not organized at all yet and i need to be. our wedding is in 6 months and i need to get it together! the only thing that is organized is my guest list which i’ve been keeping in excel. i know there are things i am forgetting about doing already
i need a good organizer to get it together!
Oh this is prettyful, wedding binders are key to organization!
That planner is amazing! I’m currently using a binder with tabs and an excel spreadsheet. I keep a print out of my most current to do’s on me at all times and get a cheap thrill every time I cross one off. I’m also using theknot.com’s checklist - with just 3 months to go until my wedding I’m finding more and more little things to do.
Right now I’m not very organized at all so I need this planner!! I just use my computer and a little notebook and its not working too well!
FH and I work from a shared google doc spreadsheet, and I have an intense collection of bookmarked pages. I also use a couple of online checklists, but it would be so much more satisfying to cross things off in real ink!
I used to use my laptop for planning purposes but after the hard drive died (again) and I lost everything, I have gone the old-fashioned route. I have a special box for all my magazines and ideas and a binder for things that are set in stone like contracts.
I currently use my computer and tons and tons of post-its. This would be perfect!
I have two black binders in which I hole-punch just the pages from magazines that have ideas or vendors I want to research later- I have 16 different tabs that I sort of guessed I needed, and I’m finding its still not enough!
Because my two bridesmaids are each on either coast while I’m in Chicago, I also will put images I save and photos I take into an online photo album and let them know there are ideas I want them to comment on for their opinion.
Lastly I have a shared google doc spreadsheet with my fiance (who lives in another city) to keep track of costs and also compare options side by side.
Somehow, I still feel disorganized- maybe because I’m just organizing as I go and thinking of things later rather than sooner!
UGH! I am terrible at organization! I try really hard… meaning file folders and even keeping pictures I find, addresses, inspirational ideas, emails, and everything else wedding related in a folder on my computer…. However, everything else I have achieved so far away from the computer has ended up in a rubber maid container that has so much stuff in it, I am not exactly what is even in there anymore! I haven’t went out and purchased an organizer yet, this certainly looks, not only organized, but beautiful!! What a gem! Wow, this really makes me want to get more organized after reading all the great responses!
I stay organized with folders for my magazine clippings, an organization suitcase type thing to tote around to different vendors, and everything else is organized in my computer.
I had a 3 ring binder divided into sections. I would put everything in there (magazine clippings, addresses, menus…) I also had a folder on my laptop with websites that I likes. I would love to win this for my friend who just got engaged! She is having an engagement party next month and this would be a fabulous gift for her! Thanks!
I have a folder with all contract copies and many excel spreadsheets!
I have a binder that I keep (it’s semi organized) along with a spiral notebook of paper and also my calender.
i use the knot’s spreadsheets, keep all my contracts in a binder and carry a datebook with me everywhere (complete with a swatch from my dress).
papers, notes, cut outs and clippings all over the plcae. help me get organized oh cute blue one!
Oh please pick me! I have not found a planner yet to organize all of my ideas. I’ve been using an old binder with plastic sleeves and tabs for clippings–but this would help immensely!
Different binders for different things.. this planner would be awesome!
It is so hard to organize that everything for the wedding. I have not found anything that works yet
My kitchen table is functioning as a file cabinet. I gave my mother my venue contract so she could act as my organizer. I asked her for it the other day, and she said I did not hand it to her! Arrrgghhh
Lol, I’m trying to organize my organizing! I make a million lists on every scrap of paper, I use google docs, I have a bunch of notebooks…
I have a huge black binder with tabs but it’s such a chore to lug around. It has all the contracts, inspiration, lists, to dos, budget, etc. It’s really organized but this smaller organizer would be awesome to have and not so obvious to lug around!
I scan all my vendor agreements and place them in a folder on my Mac. I put jpeg images of inspiration in the folder as well. It would be nice to have an actual planner that I could use to place the original documents in. ![]()
I have a large binder where I’m putting hard copies of all contracts and other important documents (like inspiration pictures from magazines). I created a new folder in my email, use excel for address spreadsheets, and have been using the Knot’s online budget planner.
I have a binder-thing where I am keeping business cards, phone numbers, and ideas. It is no where near organized!
I’m a bit of a mess when it comes to organization. I have well over a million wedding magazine cutouts and pictures stored on my computer in no organized manner I might add. I have a list of possible vendors that I lose every other day and a to do list that I haven’t seen in about a month. I bought a planner before I realized it was more of a guide then an organizer. Now I have been drooling over this beautiful planner in my favorite color since I saw it a couple of days ago!
I have a binder to keep organized.. along with a tote bag that holds it as well as a few wedding related handouts I have slowly accumulated..
binder for all the “done” and major info stuff from vendors, files on the computer & iphone for ideas, and lots of PILES of stuff around the house. oh, and an email that we email back & forth adding more “to-do’s” to it… my planning is almost done (1 week!) but id LOVE to give this to a newly engaged girlfriend so hopefully she can stay better organized that us!
unfortunately im not organized. All i have is a big blue file packet to squeeze things in. It’s completely overpacked already!
i stay organized with excel spreadsheets. Every purchase, deposit, and contract is documented. All of my inspiration photos are in a file on my computer, ready to print at any moment! I have a wedding planning binder, organized into categories (dj, photo, video, limo, etc) in which I have collected cards, numbers, information, coupons, etc.
I have many folders and accordion files in use too…it would nice to have everything in one quick and easy planner!
I have a folder on my computer. And some folders. Let’s just say I could really use this organizer! Yikes!
I use regular binders with sheet protectors and post-it instant tabs. BUt having this wouldnt hurt =P
Right now I’ve been using a small notebook and and a folder- very low tech. This planner would be amazing for me right now because I’m just starting to sign contracts with vendors and to pulling together all the details that bees obsess over.
I have no organizational method. I have contacts scattered on different notepads and pictures saved on different computers!
this is exactly what i need! lol with studying for the bar exam this summer and last minute wedding planning all by myself (my family is out of state), i need something to help me feel organized
“post its” in clear folders located in a 3 ring binder….tabs…..
I have an excel sheet that was passed down to me, and I use my favorites and delicious to keep track of ideas online.
My lovely bridesmaids made me a beautiful binder complete with a tab for everything you’d ever need for wedding planning. Unfortunately, its HUGE. i’m talking doesn’t fit in any bag i have. haha I love it all the same but I feel like I throw out my back everytime I pick it up! ![]()
I Need This!!! I have so many notes, etc. laying around, this would really help!
oooh… pretty. right now i just have a whole bunch of bookmarks on my computer…. i don’t have paper copies of anything, but will need to soon!!!
I use Google notebook to keep track of everything I find online-from photographers to wedding dresses. I also use Google Calendar since my fiance works an unusual schedule and it sends him an email every morning of the day’s schedule. I use the Knot as a reference for the budget. In addition, I have a binder filled with everything on paper and an excel spreadsheet of the wedding party’s contact info.
Right now I’m using a regular 3 ring binder, that has seen better days and it still has a year to go
I have tabs for each category and some sheets protectors so that I can put in things from Magazines. I have a tab for everything, I like for everything to be organized!! This would really help me out ![]()
Not very organized but still in the beginning stages….I find inspiration photos while surfing the web and then email them to myself. ![]()
Its my wonderful fiance who is the organized one! he has everything i need on spreadsheets, all categorized! Yippy! But, i was able to find an andorable portable white file that looked like a purse to keep all my paperwork together! I get compliments whereever I go, it hasn’t left my side in 9 months! Would love the Mindy Weiss–DARLING!! Annie
I’m just in the beginning of things, so I have everything bookmarked in its own folder or in a binder. Now to figure out the catering…
I have a binder that right now serves as my organizer for my inspirations since I am still in the beginning process of planning. I have my favorite venues and such all categorized as well as a notebook for notes or things that I need to get done.
I’m using a binder and have everything just shoved into it. Would be nice to have a pretty, functional planner designed for this monstrous task!
I’m in….I just started planning, so this would be perfect!
I use a combo of google documents (think spreadsheets for the budget) and google notebook (great place to share ideas). I have one for my fiance and one for my maid of honor and mother… My mom is far away so it helps keep her involved as we move through the process…
honestly, i don’t stay organized. i write things down on scraps of paper and then shove them into folders, and then every once in a while i freak out and purge the folders. i wish i had a better method.
i use an excel sheet in mircosoft to keep track of all my wedding planning materials.
Right now I’m using about 6 different folders and excel spreadsheets…..it’s not the best but it’s better than nothing.
I rely on my well honed list-making skills to keep me on track. I have a notebook with all the “must dos” but I rarely use the checklists they provide, and it serves as a handy dandy binder for things like contracts and photos and ideas. I also have a ridiculous folder on the computer called “Planning” wherein I save EVERYTHING, including every little inspiration picture and iteration of the guest list.
I’ve been engaged for just about a year, but with a little under two years left before the wedding, I can’t really say I have done very much planning. I’m trying to learn as much as I can about weddings, what to expect and what I want, and I’ve just accumulated piles of brochures and magazines and slew of favorite tabs on my browser. I have a folder on my desktop where I just toss in files I think my be helpful one day, but I’m thoroughly at a loss for how to make it more cohesive and something I can actually use throughout the wedding planning process.
I’m currently using a binder, but that planner looks fabulous!
I’m working off a bunch of excel, PowerPoint and word docs along with a wedding binder. This would make a great addition to the planning tools i already have
I could seriously use this binder! our wedding is 9/27/08 and we just started planning!!! YIKES!
Mainly internet bookmarks, emails, and files on multiple computers! This binder would really help in keeping things in one place especially when I don’t have internet. ![]()
I use excel religiously, as well as outlook to help me keep track of my appointments. This proves difficult when away from the computer!
The color of this planner is my inspiration color for my wedding! That’s my favorite color for my summer beach wedding. I’m in desperate need of this planner because I cannot seem to get everything organized. I have magazine clippings saved in a folder, bookmarks saved on my computer, word documents saved with ideas, etc. But everything is all over the place. I’m a very type-A personality planner and this planner would help me get back on track with organization!
I have everything saved in files on my computer, and from there broken down into the details.
haha I have a little tiny black book that I write everything down in and then those little sticky colored bookmarkers so I remember which pages are about what…not the best system ever ![]()
see the thing is that I am not that organized… I have one folder in my file cabinet that I collect pictures, fliers and business cards and contracts, along with numerous folders on the computer for links, photos and graphic files Ive created. I could definitely use a nice planner!!
I bought a small planner with a calender just for wedding planning. I also put reminders on my phone and I tell my friends that help out with certain projects to remind me of important dates.
I’ve tried two systems that work for friends: a blank binder/notebook, and excel spreadsheet…but neither seems to work for me! I need a system that will help me think through the categories and see the big picture — this looks perfect. Right now, since neither system really works, I just have a “wedding stuff” folder on my computer, and I throw all docs/pics/files in there. Too bad it won’t work for dress samples!
I keep my photolog on jump drive and the rest in a pile in the living room.
my school planner…. it has both my homework as my wedding assigments in there.
We’re still in the beginning stages, and I’m currently using an Excel spreadsheet and a manila folder.
Right now I have a Huuugge binder in a tote bag along with magazines and an excel spreadsheet
Don’t laugh, every time something new arises, I use a folder (OK so I have about 50 folders) BUT I keep it in a box! It really is a lot more organized than it sounds.
Currently sorting everything into piles on my desk - post-its, pictures, business cards, you name it. Unfortunately, I opened the window the other day and now the “organized piles” are part of one bigger, very messy pile.
how do i keep organized? i don’t. that’s why i need this planner! ![]()
So far, I just have everything on separate tabs on an excel spreadsheet. ![]()
I clip pictures out of magazines, throw away the magazines, and glue the pictures onto paper and stick those in a three ring binder. All pictures are organized into categories such as flowers, wedding dresses, hair styles etc…
Gimme Gimme! But seriously, I have a huge wedding binder, with everything in page protectors because yes I am a weirdo!
This is an absolutely perfect planner. I love how beautiful it is and what a fantastic way to stay organized!
Well, since my FI is an Army logistician and an Academy grad, so I mostly just tell him all my thoughts and new/crazy/brilliant ideas. He somehow manages to sort through them all (discarding the ideas that have been replaced) and can recall them on a moment’s notice. Unfortunately we are both awful at remembering to charge our cell phones, so before I fly out to meet with vendors next month, I will have to add charging his cell to his mental “to-do” list.
