Invitations in Letterpress Land

June 22nd, 2008 @ 3:30 pm by Mrs. Cherry Pie

Our invitations are off at summer camp in letterpress land, better known as Twin Ravens Press. Here’s a sneak peek at the process thus far:

Stacks of paper for our invites, RSVPs, Thank You cards, and more. You can see the envelopes for both, as well as the red and brown papers that will be used to make our sashes. The canisters in the upper right are our inks!

Mmm, Rives BFK paper. So luxurious…

Our press plates. Look at all the details!

The plate for our map and directions.

As a color test run, Kristin pressed the wheat for our Thank You notes and hung them to dry in her studio…

Mmm, wheaty.

All the little invites are having a lovely time at letterpress summer camp. We miss them, though, and we hope they come home soon.

Where are you at with your invite design?

I showed FI some inspiration pictures, and he fell in love with the idea of birds. The graphic we’re using is actually heavily edited clip art. My sister has taken our design idea and run with it, and I’m loving it so far!

Aww, my invitations are off at summer camp, too, although another summer camp — they’re at engraving land instead of letterpress land! I should be seeing the final product in a few weeks, and I am chomping at the bit to get those babies in my hands.

Wow! That letterpress plate is impressive. I’m jealous but am very happy to report that my FI, MOH and I finished printing our invites and cutting up all the pieces today. It is now onto assembling mode. =)
