About Mrs. Pinot Noir

Let’s Toast!

June 25th, 2008 @ 2:56 pm by Mrs. Pinot Noir

Miss Pinot Noir here! First let me start off by saying I am so EXCITED to be a member of the hive. I’ve become a true Weddingbee addict in the last few months and I can’t wait to get to know everyone. :)

Mr. Pinot Noir and I are busy planning our wedding in Northern California. We will tie the knot in October 2008 while overlooking the beautiful Napa Valley. Just like Miss Green Tea, my Wedding Bee character is the perfect match for our wine country wedding.

Mr. Pinot Noir and I recently relocated to New York City from Washington, DC. I work at a non-profit providing health education for people living with cancer, and Mr. Pinot Noir does market research for a magazine. Our wedding will bring together our passions and unique personalities as we celebrate our love and our life together. I consider the environment in every wedding decision while Mr. Pinot Noir relishes in tradition and elegance. Needless to say I will not be walking down the aisle in a hemp dress and there will be no vegan eats at our luncheon reception. Follow along with me as I plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding in disguise.

Thank you thank you thank you!! This is exactly what we are working on too! Our wedding may not be totally green green (but come on, to do that you’d have to hop on the bus and get married in the courthouse and show all your friends and family the ceremony on youtube), but we’re trying to have a stylish wedding wedding that is at least a healthy shade of green. I really look forward to see how you and Mr. PN plan your eco-friendly wedding.

Welcome Miss Pinot Noir - like Miss Margarita, I am SUPER jealous of your Bee name.
FH and I have toyed w/ the idea of getting married in Napa as well, so I’m really looking forward to hearing about your wedding.

Welcome! I am looking forward to hearing what you have planned. I think most brides these days need to take a page from your book and try to be as green as possible!

Cheers, Miss Pinot Noir!

If you are interested in the story of how your namesake came to be cultivated in California, I HIGHLY recommend The Heartbreak Grape. Subtitled “A California Winemaker’s Search for the Perfect Pinot Noir” it’s a great read (and a GREAT wine, if you ever get the opportunity!).

Can’t wait to hear more from you. À votre santé!

Hmmm… “The Heartbreak Grape” should be underlined above. HTML failure on my part… ;)

Totally here you on planning an eco-wedding in disguise. My fiance is all for being environmentally-friendly, it’s just that he’s not going to necessarily go out of his way for our wedding to be super green. I, on the other hand, think that being as green as possible in our wedding planning will hopefully teach us to do the same in our everyday life. Looking forward to hearing your ideas!

Miss Pinot Noir

Thank you all for your warm welcomes! I’m so happy to be part of the hive!

Miss Cookie: I grew up in north eastern Minnesota, near Lake Superior, but I lived in Minneapolis for awhile too!

Beanchar: Thanks for the book suggestion, I’m adding it to my Amazon wish list!

Miss X: I was always amazed about the things that manage to grow in MN! My mom grows grapes at our house near Lake Superior and makes her own grape juice!
