A Gift Fit For a Groom

Because it’s the home stretch and we’re dealing with the last rush of wedding bills, the big ideas that Mr. Hum and I had for wedding gifts for each other have been indefinitely delayed. However, I wanted to still do something for my Mister, so the night before I’m giving him a couple of smaller gifts to enjoy.

Since Mr. Hum is stranded out in dial-up land, I am pretty sure he isn’t going to see this until after the wedding day, but to be safe, I’m doing the usual warning - No snooping you! I have pointy little elbows and I know how to use them! winky010

Check it out ladies- it’s the Mr. Hummingbird Wedding Gift pack!

Gift #1: The new Futurama movie!

Mr. Hummingbird loved this show when it was on TV and was super bummed when it got cancelled. So, when they announced there would be new feature length movies released on DVD, it was like an awesome surprise. Much to my joy, the latest one came out this week on the 24th, so I popped by after work and grabbed a copy. Hooray for cartoons!

Gift #2: A celebratory cigar!

In Mr. Hum’s family, any time there is a big family get together or a wedding, cigars are a complete necessity. So, not only did I pick up one for Mr. Hum, but I grabbed a few more for the rest of the guys as well so they could all do their manly smoking on the deck thing after the rehearsal dinner.

Gift #3: The letter!

I already wrote about this, but the night before the wedding I am giving Mr. Hum a list of 366 reasons why I love him. I printed it out today and it ended up being 8 pages long, but I’m really proud I finished it and I’m excited for him to read it!

What did you get/what are you getting your honey for a wedding gift? Is it sentimental? Is it silly? It is sweet? Share your secret!

Great gifts! I saw the new Futurama movie last night, and it was really good–different from the first movie, but good in its own way. ;-)

I bet he’ll start crying right after the first reason. That would make for some great footage!

My hubby had a watch that was given to him by his grandfather. It was engraved with his grandfather’s initials and the date of his grandparent’s 25th wedding annversary.

Well, the watch had been broken and the only way to fix it was to send it to an official licensed swiss army watch repair shop. So, I did all the research and sent it away to get fixed.

He LOVED it!

I actually just came up with his gift recently (ok, last night). My hunnie is a HUGE NY Yankees fan. His uncle, who lives in NY has season tix which he splits with 3 other doctors (those things aren’t cheap, mate!) So i’m going to send him to NY to see the Yanks one last time in the original Yankee Stadium before they open the new one next season. We are honeymooning in NY in October (after season ends) so we won’t be able to hit a game :( I hope he loves it.

I love your letter idea. I may have to steal it ;)

I’m thinking about getting my fiance a watch from TokyoFlash.com ~ he loves anything strange and these Star-Trek-ish watches are totally “him”. I just have to decide which one…
