Mrs. Tulip Mrs. Tulip, DC Age and Occupation: 36, Retired Fiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Counsel/DOO for Small Gov't Contractor Engagement Date: August 8, 2007 Wedding Date: March, 2008 Venue: Still Looking! About Me: In all my dreams of the man I'd someday marry, I never pictured anyone as perfect for me as Mr. Tulip. So now we just have to make it through the craziness of the wedding and the moving in together! I love crafts, sewing, jewelry making, and photography, so am looking forward to this chance for DIY fun. When not wedding planning, I'm playing with our dog and 4 cats, Ebay shopping, or watching too much TV (often simultaneously!).

About Mrs. Tulip

In honor of Miss Cupcake’s post from yesterday, here are a few Parent Dance pics. We didn’t have anything special — just a song and a quartet of parents (we switched halfway). But I enthusiastically recommend a Parent Dance to everyone — a few minutes out of the reception can mean a lifetime’s worth of bonding moments all around.

Both of our fathers have passed away and today I decided that Lauren’s wearing the garter. Maybe I’ll have a mother/daughter quartet!

What a great idea to switch parents half-way through! I think we might do that now!

Just wanted to share a comment that came in on this post on my personal blog…. It’s so lovely hearing from a mother’s perspective:

“My middle son got married last May and when he came over and offered his hand for the parent dance I felt like a Queen and I cried hugged and kissed him as if to hand him over tp his new life, it was very emotional and special, we danced with our foreheads together and told each other we loved each other as I gave advise on love and respect..it was the most special time between us..ever.”
