Kicking off the party right.

[Please ignore the plastic cups. The caterer provided the wrong ones. However, I didn’t end up caring much since most guests really didn’t notice, especially after a drink or two or more.]

My attention-loving mom had to get a dance in with all the guys.

Like I said, our DJ was awesome and kept the party going. Time to get down to business.

The kid ’n’ play must always happen at weddings in our circle, for some reason.

A friend gave me good advice. She said that if you stay on the dance floor and have fun, people will join you. Not sure if it was our fault or our great DJ’s, but the dance floor did have a decent crowd on it all night.

We decided to go ahead with the bouquet and garter tosses as many of our friends are not married yet.

My mom caught the bouquet.

We also had a nice little prize (gift certificates) for the lucky catchers.

A special shoutout to a bunch of my lovely college friends who came out from all over the country, mostly from the east coast. Yeah, the hubs was getting a little sloppy happy by that time.

hey mrs lime-
i took your advice and used laura bravo to make my BM dresses but i am little nervous about her production schedule. did you check in with her periodically or let her contact you? my checks for the bridesmaid dress deposits have not cleared which worries me. any helpful insight you have is definitely helpful!

thank you!

Hi Mrs. Lime! My hubby and you must have gone to school together because some of your wedding guests were also ours! In your college friends pics, M, H (sometimes known as K now), C, and E! I don’t think I know you, but congrats! You are beautiful on your wedding day!!

Thank you for the great reminder that the best way to get people onto the dance floor is to stay there yourselves… I must remember that on the day.

Thank you for the lovely comments, all.

Erin–I’d suggest being proactive and checking in with Laura periodically. I was very clear on what date I need the dresses complete by, and she worked backwards from that date to let me know when each fitting should be. Their last fitting was about 2 weeks out from our wedding date, and she had them ready a week after that. I’m not sure on the check thing as all of our transactions were in cash. Don’t be afraid to (nicely) stay on top of any of your vendors and make your expectations very clear. That helped me get stuff on time with even my smaller ones.

Tina, We did. ;). I recognize your name from when your husband was telling us about his girlfriend way back when. I think we may have met briefly or in a large group setting during one of your visits.

i’m having a blue and red wedding too and i had bookmarked your page before. i love how everything came together. my colors though are more coblat blue and crimson as the pop color. i love how you did the tablescapes =) and i saw how your previous entries… where did you end up buying the commercial wallpaper from? i think it’s a great idea =) is it eaiser to use than residential would be? i think residential would be harder to stick on cardboard?

your venue and everything is simply stunning =)

congrats congrats!

kb, sounds like your colors and wedding will be beautiful.

all three of the wall coverings i used are from designtex. i also looked at a lot of wolf gordon’s product. because they were vinyls, i just cut them and did not mount them to anything. a sharp xacto knife and metal ruler makes cutting anything of them pretty simple. if you want to mount them to something, i am thinking more residential wall coverings that are pre-pasted or paper-backed would be easier to use. most of the commercial vinyls have this mesh-like backing embedded on the back to take wall covering adhesives well but would probably not take regular glues as well. i hope this helps a bit. good luck!
