Our New Family of Six

June 27th, 2008 @ 3:45 pm by Miss Pineapple

With the addition of Rooney the puppy a couple weeks ago, there are now six members of the Pineapple household.

Here is a quick recap:

Rooney

OnyxZazu and Harrison (who like to pretend they aren’t friends, but obviously that’s not true)

So, my question to the hive is: how can we incorporate our pet collection into the wedding?

We don’t want to actually have them at the ceremony or reception. Honestly, that is just begging for trouble. Rooney does not have the amazing attention span of miss Billie Jean and the cats, well they are furry (aka not hypoallergenic) and not really wedding appropriate.

I love Miss Cream Puff’s bar menu. It is an idea I just might steal.

Any suggestions for our furry family?

I saw a knottie bio I think where the bride had cufflinks made with the pics of the pets…maybe their pics can be your bouquet charms or have them at the photo table if you’re having one…on of you and all of them?

hahaah I wish Betty White had an amazing attention span, but alas you linked to Mrs. Penguin’s genius four-legged wonder, Billie Jean. Mr. CC and I are trying to figure out how to incorporate our menagerie as well, so I’m anxious to see the comments! We were thinking we could do table numbers, but we don’t have enough pets…which is an excuse I tried to use with the hubby-to-be about why we need more ;)

ROONEY IS SOOOOO CEWT.

I love it when a: kittens cuddle while holding hands, and b: when puppies (and kittens) stick their tongues out, ever so slightly, and unwittingly make my heart leap out of my chest and fill my head with so much joy that it explodes.

So cute!!! I was thinking of using a photo of our cat, Camille, on a stamp for our Save the Date cards…

I think Rooney gets cuter every time you post his picture!

Rooney is so freakin’ cute! Gotta love those blonde eyebrows. I love V’s suggestion of putting their pictures on bouquet charms. Will you be having a grooms’ cake? You could have a picture cake with your little menagerie featured on it.

I actually did pictures of our two dogs on all of our table numbers. They were black and white and had ended up very very cute! I am sure you can find enough pictures out there of them posing or outfitted in some way. You are probably like me and see them as your lil baby :)

You could take pictures of them with numbers next to them to use as table numbers. Or I like the suggestion above of getting stamps for your invites with pictures of them.

For our table numbers, we’re going to have a friend take pictures of me and the fiance holding up signs with numbers in really random places. We’re also going to have one or two of our dog with a number somehow on or near him. Our save the dates looked like a photobooth strip and we’re having a photobooth at the wedding, so we’re continuing the photo theme in the table number signs.

I literally gasped when I saw the pic of Rooney. He is the spitting image of my dearly departed schnauzer George. What a cutie!!! Give your puppy a hug for me. :(

I like using pets as the table numbers. You could even dress them up in wedding attire for some funny shots! I saw one knot bio where the bride bought simple ikea trifold frames, took out the glass, and printed b&w photos on vellum that was glued to each side (table number on one side, or in photos). Then put a candle in the middle and fold the sides around it to form a triangle– a pretty glowing pet table number!

Do you already have your table #s? Are you even using table #s? You could use pictures them w/ numbers as your table #s.
OOPS I just read Aut’s comment, I swear I thought it up all on my own.

Will you have photos in frames of you, Mr. P, and your family at the reception? Maybe have a family picture of you , Mr. P and your darling kids taken and display it at the reception.

Meghan says:

For my cousin’s wedding, they had photos of them and their cat in the entrance of the reception hall. That worked out very well

if you don’t have enough for the table numbers themselves, how about using them as decorative elements for the other tables? pics on the cake table or guest book table… if you are having escort cards, perhaps using different family members for different sections of the alphabet (to help guests find themselves more quickly)?

the bouquet charms also sound like a fun and personal way to include them.

I just needed to chime in and say again how much I love Rooney. That tongue is too much!

Rooney is too cute!! I too want to incorporate my pooch in the wedding so we’re thinking of taking a bunch of pictures w/ her and using that as table numbers… kinda like mrs. lovebug’s table number!

No advice here. Just wanted to point out that one more cat will bring you to Miss CP and Mrs T territory…. (Hooray for too many pets!)

After your post about getting Rooney and already having three cats, and we were still on the fence, we decided to get a puppy!! I’ll say you post had something to do with it, because I showed it to my fiance to tell him it’s not the craziest thing in the world. So we got our little Boomer (schnauzer/poodle/lab/mastiff) mix 2 weeks ago, and he’s precious!! But the kitties are still learning, and we weren’t as lucky as you in him being housebroken already! Haha. Anyway, I think now that we have all these crazy animals, we will do the table numbers thing :-)

love the dog’s tounge sticking out… too cute.

Jasmine says:

How about making a donation to a rescue organization in lieu of (or addition to, if you already have plans) favors and including your pets’ pics on the donation card at each table?

Miss Pineapple says:

Great ideas ladies! I haven’t decided what to do for table numbers so that is definitely a possibility.
@December: I’m sorry about your pooch, I gave him a big hug for you.
@prettykatie: He is half schnauzer and half Yorkie/Poodle

Since our adorable dachshund demands all attention be on him, and he has a tendency to jump on us whenever he catches my FH and I giving each other love, we’re having quirky photos throughout our reception site, some which will represent our puppy’s place in our life. For the guest book table - three pictures in a row, very close up of my FH, the dog, and myself, with FH and I facing each other with our lips pursed, as though to kiss each other, and a close up of our happy pup in the middle, receiving the kisses.
