The Invites are Done!!

I couldn’t be more thrilled with our invitations! I knew from the start I wouldn’t be able to tackle DIY-ing our invites on my own, due to my totally OCD behavior and the fact that I have a habit of changing my designs as soon as I grow tired of looking at them. As a result, I headed on over to Etsy one year ago and found a lovely woman by the name of Cindi, aka BrassPaperclip. Cindi specializes in cards, gifts and custom creations and she is a goddess when it comes to customer support. I was showing Mr. CC how much I have babbled to her via Etsy and it seriously took me forrrrrreeeeeeepaever to scroll through all of our past conversations. She has put up with me chatting her ear off about the details and I’m so grateful for her hard work and super fantabulous personality.

Our invites feature a beautiful 3-layer panel card in dark brown, light blue and ivory, trimmed with rich double face satin ribbon. The blue & brown colors and birdie lovin’ totally matches our avian theme. The RSVP card features chicken and mushroom icons to add a touch of whimsy to the design.I was able to provide the map, thanks to our friend and uber-talented photographer, Miss Laura Kicey.

Our wee wedding website cards round out the package and subtly direct guests to the website for more wedding info and fun stuff (aka where to buy us presents if they so desire bwahaha)!

Our package includes 65 of the following elements:

-3-layer color-printed invitations with ribbon accent, printed outer envelope, RSVP card and printed RSVP envelope
-directions cards
-web cards

Anywho, here are more photos taken by Cindi for your viewing pleasure!

I can’t recommend BrassPaperclip enough to handle your crafty, customized wedding needs. It’s very difficult for me to resist the handmade, vintage-inspired items in her shop.

Is anyone else getting their invitations custom designed instead of DIY-ing them?

That looks amazing!

Does it cost a lot more than regular invites? I’m so intrigued

Those are gorgeous! I love etsy! I didn’t have any interest in DIYing mine either, but I feel a little better ordering from someone on etsy than some national chain, you know?
We ordered our invitations and STDs from a seller called InvitedInk. The STDs were really unique, and we got tons of compliments on them. The invitations just came the other day and they are beautiful! Very reasonably priced letterpress, and awesome customer service. Highly recommended.

I love BrassPaperClip - I purchased the silk dahlia ringbearer pillow from her a few months ago and I’m so excited to use it! I also used etsy for help designing the invitations, which finally went in the mail on Monday!! ThreeRedHens is her etsy shop.

Totally beautiful - I love the little nest on the website card!!! Adorable.

Ours are being designed on Etsy, too, by Stelie Designs. I can’t say enough good things about Stephanie, the woman behind all of it - she has just been amazing to work with, and her stuff is gorgeous. Sneak peek of the STDs on my blog, and the invitations are coming in about 2 weeks! Eeeeeeee!!!

so lovely! we’re doing a mix - our artist friend created custom art for our original design, which we’re having printed locally. the rest is DIY because we’re crazy like that.

nice to know that the bees are a mix of DIY and other fun avenues for getting things done. it definitely helps keep the DIY-madness to a reasonable level of crazy. :)

love, love, LOVE the color scheme and avian theme!

These look great, Miss CC! I love the three layers and also how the avian theme is carried throughout with different elements so the pieces tie together but don’t all look the same.

Ryan and Leslie at Philly-based Mad Maude Press (http://www.madmaude.com) are designing my invites. I just got Round 2 of their proposed designs and they look amazing. Their studio is fun to visit, too, because of the giant letterpresses and all of the vintage letter-plates.
