A Mexican Wedding

July 7th, 2008 @ 9:23 am by Mrs. Pinot Noir

Last month Mr. Pinot Noir and I traveled to Los Barriles, Mexico (on the southeastern tip of the Baha Peninsula) to celebrate FBIL (and Best Man) Pinot Noir’s wedding. This is the first wedding we have been to since our engagement. It was so interesting to attend a wedding now that I am planning my own. I’ve never been so interested in the order of the processional, the table display or the napkin colors!

The trip got me thinking about lots of wedding details that I needed to get going on including our invitations, wedding bands and music selections.

For now I will leave you with some wonderful pictures of a beautiful Mexican wedding.

What is the furthest you have ever traveled for a wedding? Have you attended a wedding in a foreign country?

Looks like a fun wedding! My brother got married in Bulgaria (his wife’s home) 5 years ago. People are still talking about how much fun they had on the trip!

@ Deanna: I guess I missed that spot when I was applying sunscreen! Both armpits got a little burnt :( Ouch!

Not yet- but my FI is the best man in a wedding in France next month! Apparently it’s going to be a four day affair, with both a civil ceremony and a religious one, then the reception goes ALL night. Literally- you celebrate until the sun comes up on the bride and groom’s new life together.

Most exciting in my view is the fact that all the women have to wear hats! Yep- huges, fancy, Kentucky Derby style hats. French Ebay has some great ones available :-)

FI just got back from being the best man in a wedding in Macedonia. He had a great time! I think he’s wishing we’d had a destination wedding now :P

WHOA you have all been to weddings pretty far away! The farthest I’ve been asked to go to a wedding is 450 miles from Laguna Niguel, CA to Napa, CA.
Sorry about the sunburn = OUCHIE!

Lovely photos! The farthest I’ve gone for a wedding was Hawaii. Coming from the east coast, it was a long trip, but so worth it!

the furthest I’ve gone for a wedding is to Australia. And I live in london. And i’ve done it twice :-)

That happens when you decide to get engaged with a man that stems from the other side of the world :-)
