Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!

Mrs. Lemon: Has it really been a year since we’ve been married?!?
Mr. Lemon: It seems so much longer than…wait, I mean, Happy Anniversary?!?

So a whole year has passed since that lucky day last year, and it certainly seems like the year has flown by us quicker than I ever could have imagined! In a way, our wedding was really just the kickoff party for the rest of our lives. We got to share our love with those closest to us, but also invite them to share in the rest of our crazy adventures as we try to make the best out of everyday. Sometimes we come close… and other times we fail miserably… but the attempt has been the part of a journey I wouldn’t trade for the world.

We decided to be quite daring and pack this year full of crazy things, such as:

1) We hella moved from SoCal to NorCal

untitled

2) I chopped off my hair… to the lengths it was when our courtship began!

IMG_0161

and the current biggie….

3) We bought our first home!

Our new House! The new key!

As far as all of that wedding planning, well an archive of the goods can be found at my handy-dandy WIKI page here on Weddingbee. And my current/future adventures in life/crafts/good things can be found over at my personal blog: kimberlymichelle.com. There’s really no way the Bee family can shake me from the hive permanently, so I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated if I wander by an amazing wedding project… and continue to refer every living creature pondering marriage to this site. :)

But for now…I’ll just pass on advice to all future brides wandering through here: ENJOY it all. Weddings were meant to be celebrations and parties, not sources of stress and anxiety. As long as you have the officiant and a spot of Earth where you can join hands, you can be married and begin your adventure as well. Enjoy the days after where you giggle each time you call him your “husband” (or wife) and enjoy the nights you get to fall asleep to someone else’s breath. Enjoy your families and friends before and after the wedding, no matter how crazy and dysfunctional they may be. And enjoy each other.

Happy Anniversary Mr. Lemon! I’ve told you many times that I’m the luckiest girl alive…but now I’m shouting it from the trees! I’ll never stop thanking you for clicking “send” and buying me a cookie.

Wow. I’m stunned. It’s really been a year since you got married?!?! Holly crap. Time has really flown. Mrs. Penguin and her hubs are meeting up with us for a UCLA football game or two; it would be great if you guys could make it too. I still regret not being able to make it to Tender Greens that day :(

Sorry, this was for your blog but it’s acting up and not letting me leave another comment:

Yeah, Rutabaga (http://www.rutabaga.com/) hosts the event every year right here in WI. You can try out lots of gear and get some good deals. I don’t know how big of rapids the American River has but a whitewater kayak is very different than a touring one. You might be better off just renting some whitewater ones to take a trip or two. With the cheaper sporting goods kind of kayaks the big things to look for are the shape and thickness of the bottom and the overall fit around your hips. You want a shallow V or U shape bottom (depending if you want to go fast or if you want it to not be tippy) but avoid the ones with flat bottoms. A sturdy, thick bottom is also important to for speed and comfort. And ideally you want the kayak to fit you snug through your hips and your turned out knees. This way you can steer by simply turning your hips slightly. My husband and I both have middle of the line touring kayaks (13.5 & 15′ long). I am extremely happy with my Prijon Motion kayak. It has super thick plastic that has handled scratching really well, has a great easy access waterproof compartment for things you might need while you’re on the water, and goes faster than my husbands. But in return is less stable than his which actually really works out your abs. : ) Hope that’s helpful.

And, I just realized you were a Weddingbee!! I shamefully admit that I still have that in my blog reader because I love looking at wedding pictures and every once and a while someone asks about Fiji. : ) Congrats on your anniversary! We just had ours last week, time sure does fly by.

i too am from monterey and am planning from all the way out in philadelphia. i was wondering if you could possibly let me know your price range and the vendors you chose to use if it’s not too much prying? i nkow that there isn’t a huge selection to choose from as monterey is a small town, so i want to make sure to get the best bang for my buck. thanks!
