To Play Dress-Up

July 7th, 2008 @ 12:25 pm by Mrs. Bubblegum

To Have and To Hold

To Do The ‘Do

To Bake a Cake

To “Break It Down”

It wasn’t finishing the cake decorations at midnight on Thursday night. It wasn’t shopping for Sunday brunch on Friday at 3 pm, when we should have already left for Maine. It wasn’t finding out, four hours before the ceremony, that the venue’s generator had been struck by lightning and that they had been without power since 10 PM the night before. For me, the most stressful part of the wedding was the 30 minutes before it started– “the calm before the storm.” It was sitting there with the silent realization that nothing else could be done. It was knowing that if anything went wrong, or if we’d forgotten anything, we would be stuck.

Luckily, I had my two bridesmaids, a bottle of champagne, and the knowledge that in an hour’s time, clear sailing or wild snafus, we would be married…

Some literal “DIY” photography:

And although unflattering, I think these next few say a bit more about how I was actually feeling:

Such sweet pics! I agree, the last ones really capture your emotions… it snowed 8 inches on our wedding day and I remember thinking, well as long as hubs and I get to the church that’s all that really matters!
