Much Ado About Shoes

July 8th, 2008 @ 4:16 pm by Mrs. Espresso

I’ve come to discover that in the world of wedding planning, it is very easy to get warped into “wedding” thinking. You know- where all of a sudden you need something just because it’s related to weddings. For me, this has most often related to bridal magazines. I already had an unhealthy amount of other subscriptions, but as soon as I was engaged, all of a sudden I needed every wedding magazine my eyes came across, because: 1) this new magazine would help solve all my wedding dilemmas, and 2) I will never be able to buy bridal magazines for myself again…maybe a bit dramatic- but hey- that’s how I felt. :)

Obsessively purchasing wedding magazines was the only area I caved into, until I came across the Miss Sixty Kely Pumps below.

They’re blue for my “Something Blue” and they have an engagement ring sketched onto the sole! How much more wedding-ish could a shoe get?! So I’ve been checking back to the Amazon site often, trying to figure out how I could make this shoe work into our wedding (since I’ve always wanted a black or green leather heel, not blue patent leather one), when I finally realized…I don’t need to. Just because the shoe is perfect for a wedding, doesn’t mean it’s perfect for my wedding. Awhhhh- relief.

What’s the one item you SWEAR you have to have for your wedding, even though it doesn’t fit anywhere into your day?

I love those blue shoes :)

I think an ice sculpture has been on my mind for awhile even though it doesn’t really fit anywhere.

I am trying to artificially manufacture a “first look” moment, even though it makes absolutely no sense to have one. Maybe this post will be enough to give up my dream….
