A Groom’s Realization

July 10th, 2008 @ 12:49 pm by Mrs. Cookie

As we were going to bed last night:

Mr. Cookie: Did you give my Best Man the measurement requirements to fit his tux?

Miss Cookie: No, I thought that was your responsibility.

Mr. Cookie: It is but I just wanted to check if you gave it to his wife, after all, she is your bridesmaid.

Miss Cookie: No, I didn’t give it to her.

Mr. Cookie: Remind me to call him tomorrow.

Miss Cookie: Ok.

Mr. Cookie: Did I just talk about the wedding?

Miss Cookie: I think you just did?

Mr. Cookie: We must be getting close to our wedding.

Miss Cookie: Yes, we are dear. Now, go to sleep!

What makes your groom realize that the wedding is soon a reality?

I’m getting married in 9 days. My parents are flying out from the other coast in 2 days. I brought my dress home last week. It’s still not totally real yet though…maybe I’ll wake up the day after the wedding and just say to him, “Holy crap, are we married?!!!”

I’m getting married in 9 days too!

My FI realized it was close when he pulled the milk out of his fridge looked at the date and said “Well I know the milk is still good because I’m not married just yet” as the date on the jug is our wedding date.

We are getting married in 2 weeks and still working on the ceremony content. My fiance just emailed me that he teared up reading I Like You by Sandol Stoddard Warburg. I literally rechecked to see who the email was from! HIM? Tearing up??! Who is this man!?! I am still digesting this information, but I have DEFINITELY decided on which reading to use! Now I don’t have to worry about being the only one crying! That’s so crazy…

Mr. Av cries about the wedding all the time. He gets stressed out really easily, so he is not handling all of these little details very well. We have all kinds of conversations just like yours.

awwww…..

we’re about 3.5 months out and i notice that my FI is bringing up the wedding more and more. We’re long distance, so i’ve been very concientous not to let wedding talk dominate the convo….well, what do you know? its dominating the convo and i’m NOT the one talking!

We’re getting our marriage license tomorrow and the invites are going out soon - definitely have experienced the shift from planning to production (hooray for DIY projects!).

Last week when he dropped the box of invites I gave him into the mailbox on the way to work. He’s checking our email reply constantly and looks in our mail slot for returned rsvp cards.
