About candycorn

After seeing all of the gorgeous inspiration boards on Weddingbee, I realized I’ve never made one of my own. The colors we chose for our “theme” came together after visiting our venue and seeing all of the blue decor, particularly in the large archway at the Chinese Rotunda, where our ceremony will be held. Since Mr. CC and I are big fans of brown, the trendy combo of blues & browns seemed like an obvious choice for us.

Are there any other blue/brown/bird brides out there? For the rest of the hive, how did you decide on your theme, and what boards do you look to for inspiration?

Yea… I’m a blue brown bride, I just think it is a pretty color combo, and the colors are so different from each other so they really POP! And I have just begun leaning towards bird! Hmmm… still thinking. Althought I do have a bird cage card holder!

I’m not a blue & brown bride, but I am doing birds. FH calls me his bird so we thought the theme was fitting :)

We had a blue, brown and bird/duck theme. The birds were in honor of his late grandmother and the ducks of his late father. We also did the Jones bottles! I just made the labels and tore off the Jones ones ourselves. We were married on May 16th, http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/page.aspx?username=MrsArego

Love your inspiration board, it reminds me so much of our wedding!!!

I’m VERY close. I’m a lime/blue/brown/bird bride. I know, sounds like a crazy color palette but I’m running with it. We are birding nerds so it was very fitting to add them. I’m not as far along in the planning (11 months to go) but I do have a WIP inspiration board http://www.flickr.com/photos/22063917@N07/2656271698/ with room to fill in. I love your board and the birds you drew. I can’t wait to see more of your stuff on etsy (after the wedding of course)!

I love it! Everything is going to come together very nicely, methinks.

We did a blue/green/brown/various other colors/birds kind of theme. It just sort of worked out that way.

Those are my tuxes! (Bottom-right photo) I haven’t met a lot of brides doing the brown-tux thing, so thanks for making me feel like I’m not the only one! I love, love, love non-black tuxes ~ these Calvin Klein ones look just as sharp as black, IMO.

One downside of going brown: You can’t really use black anywhere else in your wedding (I just don’t think it looks right). At my reception site, white and black linens are included in the price of the reception, but not brown linens. So we have to pay extra because brown isn’t standard at a lot of places. Just one thing to keep in mind!

blue/brown/bird - one more for the nest. started with blue, added brown with lemon yellow accents and fell in love with some save the dates and thank-yous featuring birds. we’re not going full tilt on the bird theme, just adding a few hints here and there. they fit in well with our garden setting. :)

hello,

i’m here and almost speechless how kinda sorta similar our stuff is. i’m also a 10-08 bride. also in the tri-state area - nj shore. also blue/brown/ivory/blush/TOTALLY BIRDS bride. fully enjoyed the dress blog the other day. i’m a vintage girl myself. i tried the vintage dress route, but never got all that far.

so MY table plan is… i’m going to have 3 different scales of branchy/floral designs. 1/3 of tables will have grande manzanitas, 1/3 will have curly willow and floral, and 1/3 tables will have droopy florals spilling over their vessel. BUT, i have 17 different artificial birdies. each centerpiece will have one perched precariously somewhere. the seating cards will have custom designs that depict the type/color of the bird in that arrangement. so, guests will kinda have to go on a birdhunt. lastly, i’ve been collecting vintage chandelier crystals that i will be hanging on ribbons and fishing wire. these will double as favors and will be adorned with custom copper (oh yeah - copper accents in the color scheme as well in hommage to my fiance’s plumbing career and obsession with all things metal) heart charms engraved with our monogram. pretty sweet, if i do say so myself. looking forward to future blogs. keep em coming.
