Yup, including my wedding dress I ended up buying 4. One for the wedding, one for the bridal shower, one for the bachelorette party and one for the rehearsal.

I justified it all with the fact that its so hot in Florida that even wearing capri pants right now is practically unbearable. So dresses it was.

Any excuse would work :)

OMG, as cute as that dress is, it costs the same as my wedding dress! I’m trying to find some cute stuff for the rehearsal, shower, etc, but in a much lower price range. Any recommendations from the bees?

super cute! but the price is not so cute…hehe :)

I’m probably in the minority here, because the wedding dress was the only new piece of clothing for the whole weekend. I’m not sure what I wore for the rehearsal. Shorts and a t-shirt, maybe?

So far I have my wedding dress, a dress for the shower and one for the rehearsal dinner. I haven’t decided if I’ll buy something for the stagette.

I keep finding myself wishing I was HAVING a rehearsal, so that I could get a yummy dress for it. That one is scrumptious!

@Sarah: I’m with you, Sarah. As much as I love new clothes, I think I have enough cute stuff currently (or will acquire them naturally in the coming months) that I can’t see myself agonizing over finding ‘the’ dress for my shower/rehearsal/bachelorette party. Isn’t it enough that I’m shelling out a ridiculous amount of money for the big white dress?

@jlsween: It’s way out of my price range as well. For a cheaper chic dress, I suggest checking out recycled clothing stores like Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads Trading Company. Just last month- I picked up a black strapless dress from White House Black Market for $18 and Marc Jacob kitten heels for $32 from those 2 stores. If recycled clothing really isn’t your style- it’s a great time to check out your regular favorite stores since many are still having their holiday sales. Good Luck!

@Angela: @Sarah: I wish I had enough cute clothes that I didn’t have to worry about this ^_^ I will probably be buying a new outfit for the rehearsal dinner but only because I don’t think there’s anything in my closet that would be appropriate….the rehearsal dinner will be fairly nice and I don’t think jeans and a t-shirt(most of my clothes, being a poor student I don’t go out to places that require nice clothes very often) will be nice enough.

@ miss espresso - i *heart* buffalo exchange! it can be tedious combing through the racks, but i’ve found a couple of fabulous steals including a wonderful silk-lined dress for the shower for a whopping $27! :) for my other retail indulgences, it’s all about the sales racks…

while we live in sf where it is not warm, many of my dress purchases are doubling as honeymoon wear and also for weekend wear when we visit FI’s parents in the north bay (where it DOES get warm - so warm my city wardrobe couldn’t manage).

to get the most bang for the buck, i’m buying cute sundresses that can be easily dressed up or down with the right accessories.

What a unique and gorgeous dress! My wedding is a year away, so I have not yet bought dresses for events, but I can’t wait to have an excuse to!
