Wish Bowl Guestbook

July 12th, 2008 @ 2:37 pm by Mrs. Tiramisu

A quick post just to show one of the many projects occupying my time this week- this was actually a really quick and really inexpensive one! Our take on the wish bowl guest book:

We thought it would be fun to have more that just wish cards… and I’m hoping we’ll get some funny responses:

Paper-source flat cards in Lake, Superfine Soft White and Bluebell,
Gocco’ed in metallic aquamarine, watercolor blue, and navy ink.

And of course I had to toss them all in the bowl to see what it will look like:

What are you doing for a guest book?

Those look great! What font do you use for the cards? I like it.

Where did you get the bowl? I’ve been looking for some nice ones to do a similar style “guest book”…I love that one!

I love the note cards! I want to know what font that is too….Thanks for sharing, it is a really nice alternative to a “standard” guest book.

lovely! we were going to do a similar bowl, but then decided to have the notes tucked into a french memo board. i love the different headers on the notes - should provide for some fun reading!

Thanks!

@KateMW: @future Mrs. Jones: The font is Albemarle Swash with some Albemarle Demo mixed in. I used something a little more formal for the invitations, but this is what I’m using for all the wedding day stuff. Miss Cupcake used it on her invites too! It’s my favorite!

@LoMac: From pottery barn, and on sale: http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p7441/index.cfm?pkey=caccvacvas

very cute tiramisu! Mr. Pineapple also likes the idea after reading your post, so we may be having a wish bowl too!

i love the predictions, advice, wishes…super cute! We actually just bought a white electric guitar to have people sign as our “guest book” and it has now become the (okay, an) element I am most excited about!!

@MissKakes: They are A2 (a quarter of a regular sheet of paper).

Thanks!

This is a great idea! I really like the idea of an alternative to the standard guestbook, but what do you do with the wishes/advice/predictions afterwards? Read and toss? or read and put in an album?

I plan on doing this and putting them in a scrapbook full of pictures of the guests. I love to scrapbook, so for me this was much better than having a plain old guestbook.

Instead of a glass jar, I found an old book that opens into a box at Ross. Ross also has glass jars of all types for those who are going the glass direction.

what text did you use on the sign next to your wish bowl? i’m doing something similar and am not yet sure how to let the guests know what they’re supossed to do. Thanks!
