Three make-up trials, two hair trials, and finally- one happy bride-to-be!
Thank you all for your suggestions on my makeup trials! I was fully prepared to be doing my own makeup on the big day, but now I am so relieved to have found someone to do it for me so that I can just relax!
After all of my frustration with the first two trials, I was cautiously hopeful about this last one. My hairdresser, Colleen, did my hair from the time I was 14 until my freshman year of college. During that time she welcomed two beautiful babies in to her family, and had considerably cut back the hours of her salon, which she runs out of her home. I didn’t think to call her right away, since I had lost touch with her and didn’t know if she was still available for weddings, especially since mine would mean traveling about an hour away. It was on the drive home from one of my disastrous trials that I searched in my cell phone to see if her number was even still there. It was, I called, and that’s when I started to feel much better about the whole thing.
So on to the trial! Colleen is one of those people who just makes you feel so awesome about yourself and life in general. From her cheerful, “hello, beautiful!” when you walk in the door, to her never-ending supply of heartfelt compliments and witty words of wisdom, she is just such a joy to be around. I’m so excited that she’ll be the one preparing me on my wedding day! Here are the photos that I showed her. I wanted to try a half-up option, as well as an up-do

Here’s the first option she came up with:

And here’s the second (we did the makeup trial in between):

Complete with bridal accoutrements and MOB:
A closer look at the makeup:

And the required “here I am seven hours later” photo (lipstick is gone but I think otherwise it’s okay):
And a teensy tiny look at the dress with each just because I love you guys (and don’t worry, I’m not a total psycho and didn’t bring my dress to the salon- we took a break in between the two options so we could tell how the curls would hold up so I went home for a bit):

When she first did my hair down I was loving it and thought that was it. Then she did it up and I changed my mind. It’s hard to decide because I had my makeup on (which I really liked) by the time she did the second trial, but I did feel more bridal with it all up. So now I’m almost certain I’ll go with the second option.
So hive, what do you think? Down? Up? Makeup perfecto? With one week to go, the indecision has got to stop!
