About Miss Sweet Tea

Totally Sweet!

July 14th, 2008 @ 2:30 pm by Miss Sweet Tea

… Being chosen as the newest bee, that is!

Like some of you out there (c’mon, admit it!), I was an avid Weddingbee reader before I was even engaged last December to the wonderful Mr. Sweet Tea. He thought I was being silly, but I say it was being practical: a lot of my early blog stalking pre-planning has kept me from going nuts as we try to organize a socially conscious, mini-destination wedding in New Orleans this December all the way from southern California.

But before I get into Mr. St’s and my backstory and the fun projects we’ve been cooking up lately, there are some things you need to know about this lil Sweet Tea. Like the drink, I’ve got Southern roots; am delightful on a hot summer day, but only with ice; and sometimes my desire to be a different kind of tea isn’t always appreciated by those who like their more familiar brew. But I’m sweet, dangit, so my stubbornness is that much easier to swallow. ;)

Those are the basics, now on to the pictures! I looked high and low for pictures of myself with a tall glass of sweet tea for you, but alas you will have to settle for other shots of me and some of my favorite things:

Comics!

(at the Comic Museum in Brussels)

Monkeys!

(with the tarsiers in Bohol, the Philippines)

….

My Kitties!

Inez
(from a birthday card I made Mr. ST)

Kali

….

and of course, my favorite person in the whole world

… who will have to be coaxed out of his Weddingbee-shyness ;)

I am so thrilled to join the hive and cannot wait to share all the highs (and some of the lows) of wedding planning with you!

I also had a shy groom, who refused to have photos of himself posted for the world to see. Luckily he relented 1 day before I was accepted into the hive. Kismet I tell you!

I can already tell your writing style is a little bit sweet, a little bit sassy. Welcome!

Nice to meet you! Those tarsiers always freaked me out a bit, but I don’t think you will at all, lol.

So when I told Mr. Cookie you he said, “So his pseudonym is Mr. T” and proceeded to do the worst impression of Mr. T ’s “I pity the fool” * shakes head*

Welcome!

@NiftyBa: The other picture I would have posted was of a tarsier on my head- I look completely deranged, as I’m trying to smile with this crazy thing on me. *shiver*

@Tiki: Thanks! I’m sure there will be at least a few cat-related stories (or mishaps) I will have to share here!

As a California native who travelled all the way to Alabama for college only (War Eagle!), I have to say I’m not a fan of sweet tea at ALL!! However, it appears I’m going to have a hard time not liking you (not that i would try) :) Welcome!

Welcome! Love the post. And ST looks adorable. Maybe if we all shower him with compliments, he’ll lose the turtleneck?

@Mrs. Lovebug: I hope so, it’s mighty warm for his “Harry Potter” scarf here in SoCal!

@Miss Gingerbread: Sadly, he is so used to being cruised that nothing besides promises of chocolate or fancy beer work at this point. ;)

Ooh, I love comics and monkeys too (but only heathens don’t like those two things). Sweet Tea is awesome but I don’t allow myself to have it anymore.
