Freebies!

July 15th, 2008 @ 1:45 pm by Mrs. Pineapple

Mrs. Corn introduced the Bees, myself included, to Wal*Mart free samples, suggesting it would be a good source for bathroom basket items. I jumped on the idea and headed to Wal*Mart’s website. On the site you can choose from a list of items that is frequently updated. The items arrive in 4-6 weeks, so it takes some planning ahead.

After visiting Wal*Mart’s site, I Googled around a bit to see who else was giving away free samples. That is when I stumbled upon FreeSamplesBlog.com. It’s updated daily with free finds across the web.
So here are the first two samples I received: Tampons and Deodorant. Fantastic!

I got some others, but they were too small to really include in a bathroom basket, like a packet of 2 Excedrin. I will put them to good use though!

I also got a big ol’ box of wonderful hair care samples from Mr. Pineapple’s friend, Jess. Jess used to work at ULTA and read my post about my crazy frizzy hair. She then wonderfully offered to send me some of the free samples she had been given while working there.
She included some of the products you guys recommended like Fekkai and Ojon. I cannot wait to try them out, and my hair is equally excited!

Has any one else taken advantage of free samples for a wedding project?

OMG, Ojon is my absolute favorite thing in the world for hair! It’s sooooooo good for my normally super frizzy hair.

I have used http://todaysfreebies.com/ and the http://slickdeals.net/ freebies forum for years. For the wedding, I am using the samples for bathroom baskets and OOT bags and the emergency kit. Any samples not used will be donated to either homeless shelters or create a care package for those serving overseas.

What a great way to add an extra touch to the bathroom without spending much money! Thanks for the tip!

Great suggestion! My only concern is that by giving out your address for samples, you’ll also be added to an awful mailing list for junk. Have any of you had that happen?

Mrs. Corn, I always love your posts, but I beg you: please don’t promote an evil store such as WalMart. For anyone interested in educating themselves on how WalMart is contributing to the downfall our society, please visit http://www.walmartmovie.com/ and watch this short film about how Sam Walton’s legacy is destroying American families and the American small town.

You have to have a CVS card, but this week at CVS, you can get a pack of the CVS brand pantyliners for $.99 and then you get a CVS buck back of $.99 to use on any future purchase so it’s essentially free. Same thing for the CVS tampons but I think that is only 5 per pack and the limit is 2. The tampons are $1.49 I think but you get it back in CVS bucks.

You can also get some free nail polish to put in your basket if you want from CVS this week too. CVS has the Sally Hansen Hard as Nail brand on sale for $0.99/each. You buy 3 and there is a coupon online that you can print out for $3 off any Sally Hansen Hard as Nail purchase of 2 bottles or more. So free! You can find the coupon on http://www.iheartcvs.com. Yea for free stuff!!!
