About Mrs. Sundae

Happy Day!

July 16th, 2008 @ 3:49 pm by Mrs. Sundae

I arrived home to a package last week…our envelopes are back from the calligrapher! As you all know, the past few weeks haven’t been the easiest in terms of wedding plans, so having the envelopes in my hot little hands was better than Christmas.

It pained me to blur out any of the information, so I took some pictures of our inner envelope (you need one to keep, after all!) so you can get an idea of just how beautiful they are…

Based on the glowing recommendations from Mrs. Onion, we used Michele Clark in NYC. I honestly can’t say enough about her- she’s so great to work with, is so affordable, had the envelopes back to us earlier than expected, and even blended two of her regular fonts together for us because I am an indecisive freak and couldn’t pick one. We also did something a little different and opted to have Michele print the return address on the back flap of our envelopes, instead of having them printed with our invitations:

I couldn’t be happier with the results! They’re truly so pretty that I don’t want to send them out :) Michele doesn’t have a website, but you can reach her via email at calligraphybymichele (at) verizon (dot) net. She books up early, so plan to call her in advance!

Those look so great! Your font is so pretty - perfect balance of being classic, yet a little modern and a little whimsical…that is seriously the best calligraphy I’ve seen!

Oo, they look so nice! I actually just got our envelops back from Michele and love them! She has been my favorite vendor to work with so far. She is responsive, on-time and her work is amazing!

just a random note - I check weddingbee everyday for my daily dose of wedding porn, and when I saw your post, I had to go “ha!”… I live in West Chester, Ohio, too. Just thought that was a funny coincidence.

Anyway, your calligraphy looks great, and all the best for the wedding!

Absoultely gorgeous! I’m keeping her on file! I don’t need calligraphy for anything, but now I’m trying to find an excuse for it :)

they really do look lovely. I doubt I’ll have room in my budget for such expenses. I’m hoping (if I have time) that i will teach myself to write in calligraphy so I can address them myself. We’ll see how that goes for me, the ultimate procrastinator. :)

Those are gorgeous and I’m happy to see that you’re happy with them, since I am also using Michele Clark!

Which 2 font styles did you have her blend together? I, too, am having trouble deciding!

Abby and Christine - it was a mix of fine script and wispy. I actually sent her a pdf of our invitations and she kind of used the font on those as a guide. She couldn’t have been better to work with!

Miss Sundae — first I have to say “HOORAY FOR MICHELE!” I’m so glad you reached out to her because of me and so happy you’re happy! Your font choice came out so well.

And Jessica — seriously, when we say reasonable that isn’t bride speak for “oh well, I’ll just not eat for a week…” She is sooo reasonable that it’s just silly (unless you want to learn anyway) to do it yourself. I hand wrote all our STD’s and my hand was killing me. She is a doll, a professional, and just the best. EMAIL HER — you’ll be surprised.
