About Mrs. Espresso

Wedding Website

July 16th, 2008 @ 6:28 pm by Mrs. Espresso

Our wedding website is almost done and I absolutely love the site we went through. eWedding really does a great job in making the process as easy as possible by providing a multitude of themes, colors, subjects, and package choices. And the best part- the basic package is free for a year- so nice! Of course, they try and get you to purchase a better plan by offering you the top package free for a limited time- but really- if all you’re looking for is the basics- then the free package is more than enough. The free package come with these page categories: Welcome Page, Polls, Quizzes, From Us, Events, Registry, Contact, Photo Albums, and Background Music.

Being that I got spoiled with the beginning Platinum Package, I upgraded to the Silver package for $4.95 a month… which I don’t think is bad at all considering we only have 3 months left until our wedding. It doesn’t offer too much more, but I wanted it for the personal domain name and Wedding Party page. I like seeing all of their pretty faces with short bios. I also love the Guest Book option with this package and a page for information for Out of Towners. Check out some of the themes:

This page will come in great for helping our guests stay updated with our events, registry, and hotel information.

Are any of you creating a wedding website as well?

FI is a code monkey, so we’re doing ours from scratch. it’s been quite a process and i’m somewhat tempted by other sites - seems so quick, easy and stylish, especially considering how much time the average guest will spend on it. :)

it will be good when our site it up - something personal that FI has really taken the lead on.

i went with mywedding.com since it’s free. it was really easy to use, and it is SO FREAKING HELPFUL coz whenever someone ask questions i just refer them back there and they usually feel guilty about not having gone there on their own that they end up reading more / more thoroughly!

@missm: How nice! No code monkey here… I’m on the complete opposite end of the spectrum :)

Like Miss Green Tea, I went with MyWedding.com. Its really comprehensive by itself and also allows you to create 3 or 4 custom tabs, in addition to their default tabs. You can turn pages on and off, add music, RSVP’s and more. Best of all…IT’S FREE! Totally.

I love it and people are thinking I’m a total techy. Which I’m SOOOO not.

Check it out ladies!

we went with eWedding and LOVE it. I opted for the silver package too and it’s great because you can change the names of the catagories and totally personalize it.

We went with mywedding.com too, because it has all the features and is free. The site name is customizable too, but if you REALLY don’t want the “mywedding” part in the address, you can buy your own domain and link the 2 addresses up (um, yeah, my fiance did this part for us, but it made our site name shorter and cuter).

For those who have mywedding.com pages, are you able to continuiously update the pages? Are there any ads? I want to go with a free site and this seems to be the best of all the free options, but it doesn’t give you a preview like the other sites do. Thanks!

@Beth: you can update as often as you need to. When you’re in your account there’s a button towards the upper right that says “preview page” or something like that (I’m not at my computer now). A seperate window will open so you can see the page.

And no, there are no ads on your page. Your personal URL takes your visitors right to your page.

If you need more help let me know.Good luck!

I’m not familiar with the wedding websites and was wondering how you go about letting people know that you have a site? Is it mostly just by word of mouth?
