Mrs. Margarita's Picture
Mrs. Margarita, Boston/Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 26, Healthcare Consultant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Doctor Engagement Date: March 21, 2007 Wedding Date: August, 2008 Blogging Since: June 18, 2008 Venue: Saddlerock Ranch About Me: I grew up in Southern California, moved to Boston for college, New York for grad school, back to Boston and now I travel the northeast every week for work. When I'm not on the go, I love to read, draw, shop, sleep and spend quality time with my fiancé, family and friends. We're long-distance planning for our "big fat brown wedding" in California and are excited to unite our Sri Lankan and Indian cultures and Buddhist and Hindu religions in a unique and modern way.
About Mrs. Margarita

Our invitations took me forever to finalize. I fussed and fretted over every little detail from line thickness to wording. I changed the paper, the design and I think lost my mind in the process. But I am SO glad I did because I ended up with these beauties:

Outside of our invitation with our monogrammed bellyband:

I love the huge lotus and the hanging garlands of flowers.

This is the inside of our pocket fold style invitation. The pocket holds our homecoming reception, mendhi, directions, RSVP and response envelope. Our main invitation is mounted on the other side.

Our main invitation:

These pictures really don’t do them justice. I assure everyone that the colors are very vibrant and the gold shimmery paper glows. I think Saima used the same gold paper on Mrs. Jasmine’s invitations.

I am so happy with the end results and think Saima did an amazing job creating invitations that are modern but with a classic South Asian feel. Now I’m excited to infuse some of the invitation elements (lotus flowers and our monogram) into the wedding. :)

They’re so beautiful! Isn’t Saima the best? She does such an amazing job of creating South Asian-inspired designs that are still very modern and innovative. Your guests are going to be wowed.

I was really happy with ours until I saw yours….very nice work. I saw the ones that Mrs. Jasmine got and it looks like Saima did no less then perfection on yours as well. Really really nice.

You, in the US, have the most gorgeous wedding invitation ever seen. I spend hours on the web to look at those things and these one specifically are so beautiful, elegant, original, good done!
In Italy we have just the only W invitation seen and seen and seen over and over…

I love your invites! The hues are beautiful and I especially love the garlands. And you included a Homecoming card - great idea! I recently got engaged to a gentleman of Sinhalese origin so we’ll be having a Homecoming Reception as well. We’ve been specifically looking for a non-religious card and yours gave us some great ideas!
