I Finally Found My Wedding Shoes!

July 17th, 2008 @ 6:35 pm by Mrs. Candy Corn

After hauling my arse around the King of Prussia Mall (twice!!), I was incredibly close to just giving up and going down the aisle barefoot (despite my unfortunate Flintstone toes).  I decided to stop by the Macy’s at the Plymouth Meeting Mall to give the wedding shoe shopping thing one more chance.  Luckily, I stumbled upon Bandolino’s Elycee shoes, which fit most of the requirements (ivory, peep toe, kittenesque heel).  I would’ve preferred a shoe with a closed back just because it looks a bit more formal to me, but these fit so comfortably I couldn’t resist them, especially since they were under $50.  I frolicked around the clearance aisle to give them the skipping-while-wearing-mini-heels test while the Jamaican sales clerks looked at me like I was a total crazy person… which I have officially become since I have wasted a good chunk of the past two weeks trying to resolve the no-shoes situation.

Here they are on my feet, pardon the reddish ankle, I had been sitting on the computer chair all wackadoo. I wish I had an excuse for my unpolished, pudgy toes, but alas, I do not!

Thanks for your help with my past shoe polls! I decided to try to find a pair of shoes in person since I wasn’t having any luck ordering them online and guessing my shoe size. Although, I totally recommend endless.com for those of you who are pretty confident in your shoe size.

Has anyone else been putting way too much time into finding the right shoes?

Love them - they are perfect - reasonable and comfy. I had a terrible time looking for shoes and it was soooo time consuming. I ended up hating them - but they were the right height. The day after our wedding, I tossed the shoes in the waste basket in the hotel and it felt soooo good.

They are soo adorable. I can just picture them with your cutie dress. I also had a hard time with wedding shoe decision making. All I heard from sales clerks was that “White shoe season is over!” But, I finally settled on my original shoes.

I spent 13 months of our 16 month engagement looking for the perfect shoe. Originally I wanted blue mary jane heels (like the ones Manolo makes) but I could not find any for the life of me. I changed my mind to gold heels after falling in love with a pair from Dollhouse (one of the Bees posted them in ivory the other day…I can’t remember who!) but alas, they were discontinued in gold and the store didn’t have my size. I combed ebay, zappos, and all the other online shoe stores but couldn’t find them. Then I found my Donald J Pliner “Coda” heels…they were perfection and I LOVED them.

So long story short, you are not alone in your long search for shoe-heaven.

I love the King of Prussia mall! Really between Zappos and that mall if a pair of shoes can’t be found they must not exist.

Miss Candy Corn - the shoes are beautiful, but more importantly *you* are beautiful! I would LOVE to see some posts from you where you aren’t apologizing about some perceived flaw. There’s nothing wrong with having unpolished toes, or having some weird red mark on your leg because you were relaxing before the picture bug overtook you!

The shoes are fabulous - I’m so glad you found them!

@LurkerLurker:
You’re so sweet :) I’ll try to be less apologetic/self conscious from now on I promise!

@jtg:
That mall is totally addictive and I take advantage of the Cold Stone way too often haha.

@casablancabride:
I posted some Dollhouse shoes the other day! I love their shoes, mmmmm. I’m so happy that you finally found your perfect shoe :)

I’m getting married in six weeks and I just found my shoes the other day! And I’m still not sure if they will work since they are ivory and my dress is white. They are comfy, adorable and perfect heel height though… and my dress is so long that you can’t see my shoes anyway unless I hike it up and intentionally display my feet. So… hopefully my shoe hunt is over. But if they look horrible at my next dress fitting then I may be on the prowl again…

Welcome to my number 1 priority right now. I think if my FI sees one more box come from zappos or endless he might start hiding them from me. I am looking for a great pair of satin green heels and just can’t find a pair I love!
So glad you had success, I love them. I should probably suck it up and go hit the KoP this weekend….
