About Mrs. Daffodil

It only took a few extra minutes, and it was just a small personal touch that I thought would be a little treat for ourselves.  Consider this an addendum to my post last week about our place cards… I forgot to mention the place cards I created for Mr. D and myself! During all the planning, I found that in the craziness of crafting all these perfect details for your guests - the programs, the place cards, the favors, etc. - it was nice to spend a couple extra minutes on a little something for ourselves. Just a sweet, simple, and special souvenir, that now sits displayed on our mantle with our toasting glasses smiley10103.

I have to admit it was pretty trippy to see my new last name (on public display, no less) for the first time! It felt a little weird in the crafting process… but on our wedding day, as I sat down at our sweetheart table and looked over at my place card, it just felt pretty cool in a quiet kind of way. smiley10103 Like, wow, we really are married now.

Well, I guess blocking out my last name kind of defeats the purpose of this post smiley4020, but trust me, it felt pretty cool. Perhaps slightly bittersweet that I gave up my maiden name, but bittersweet in a joyful way nonetheless. smiley10103

Let me go on a tangent for a second to satisfy your DIY cravings. I crafted them in the same way as I did our guest placecards, except a little bigger (1.75″x4.75″), without the jewel, and with more paper flowers. To be honest, I only did it that way because I ran out of the little jewels, so I thought I’d compensate by adding more blooms.

Here’s the one I crafted for Mr. D too…

Any little personal touches you are adding to your wedding, for no one else other than the two of you? smiley10103

I did the same thing. Our escort cards said Davis and Miriam B——d but my place card said Miriam B——d. Everytime I saw it before the wedding, it came close to dumbfounding me. The day of, it was priceless ;)

we forgot to number our sweetheart table, so we made our table cards say “table 0.” my computer science/engineering geek husband enjoyed that greatly.
