Disneymooners

July 19th, 2008 @ 2:22 pm by Mrs. Candy Corn

Since Mr. CC and I don’t plan on taking our honeymoon to Italy until June ’09, we are highly considering taking a “minimoon” to Disney World for a couple of days during the holidays. My parents will be in Florida during the winter months and my brother will be visiting his in-laws in Florida for Christmas, so it seems like the perfect excuse to go to Disney World and be total tourists with my family (if they’re up for it, if not I can just ride Tower of Terror over and over with Mr. CC).

A friend recently sent me this YouTube video that made me laugh hysterically and develop a comedian crush on the very sassy Giulia Rozzi. Immediately after watching it, I started panicking and wondering if I’ll turn into one of those Mickey Mouse-earred newlyweds who forces her hubby to wear unfortunate mouse-related attire (not that there’s anything wrong with that, to quote Seinfeld).

video source!

A very guilty Mickey Mouse-earred Ms. Candy Corn (I didn’t buy them, I just swiped them for a photo, I swear!) Very rarely do I wear strappy tank tops (sorry about the bra straps, I feel skankalicious posting this), but Florida is too hot to handle, fo realz.

I am pretty sure that even if I did turn into a Disneyzilla of sorts, Mr. CC would totally be up for it. Thanks to his generous fiance (me!), he is the proud owner a Goofy viking hat, which was quite possibly the best present I have ever bought him.

Is anyone else considering going to Disney for a wee minimoon or honeymoon?

We’re definitely doing Disney world for our honeymoon :-) Disney has a package where you can split your week between being in the park for one half and then on a Disney cruise for the second half, which is absolutely perfect for us because we couldn’t decide between Disney or a cruise.

BWAHAHAHA I love her wedding board videos. Even when I’m like, “Oh god, I said something like that a while back, didn’t I?”

The sad thing is, I can imagine so many of those women just getting PISSED OFF about being part of a satire.

Also, watch out for those hats. I got the gnarliest case of florida head lice trying on hats at Disney World when I was 10 years old. Seriously, I still have nightmares.

I am not joking.

We are going just for one last Disney World hoorah before we move to California and start going to DisneyLAND! But its only wedding related in that it’ll be me, my fiance, and one of my bridesmaids who happens to be minnie mouse!! (and it inspires more bizarre fun pictures that become wedding-esq.. at least in my mind…)

we went to disney world for our honeymoon and LOVED IT. we live 30 mins from disneyland, where my husband works as well, so we decided to do something we both loved (disney), but in a place we’ve never been to. it was fun to make our first visit to disney world together, and the cast members there did a great job making our honeymoon fantastic. :)

CC, that is a great video! I know two disney brides, one normal…and one who sounds like she’s one of the girls in the video :-D

Mr. Trebuchet & I had to go down to Epcot for an event we work at for four years in a row…so we’re both Disnyed-out. We’ll be mini-mooning elsewhere!

We’ll be in DisneyWorld for our December honeymoon! It will be a welcome change from the weather in Vermont I’m sure.

Ok, that video is pretty amazing.

On another note, from a person who worked at Disney World for four years…the BUSIEST time to go to Disney is the week between Christmas and New Years. So busy, that they sometimes close the parks to people who aren’t staying in the resorts.

However, the weeks prior to Christmas and the first week in after New Years (as well as the weeks just after Labor Day) are the quietest times to visit the mouse.

Hope that helps.

These videos are the funniest thing I’ve seen since I saw the video of the Japanese gameshow called Human Tetris. Thanks for posting.

Well I have never been to Disney and we wanted a nice relaxing and stress free (traveling overseas would be great, but I would stress about it all I think), so Disney is where we are heading. I’m looking forward to it….and since I’ve never been I may go a little crazy with the mouse ears, but oh well….gotta do it once in your life I suppose! And we are going the week right after Labor Day, so we’re hoping it will be nice and quiet.

As someone that has been to Disney World over 20 times (not always my choice!), I am surprised I would still ever want to go… but I do! I live by Disneyland now but it’s just not the same, I love Epcot and the resorts too much! Have fun, but as Corn says, be ready for the crowds- Christmas to New Year’s is CRAZY busy!

OMG - hilarious video. I’m going to have to check out her other videos, because there are so many wedding board threads that should be made fun of :)

[...] We stayed at one of the Disney deluxe resorts - The Wilderness Lodge, and got the best room in the whole place! Check out our view: We visited all four parks, which were the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. We couldn’t rock the ears fo’ realz, but we did fake it for a second in the store. Actually, we wouldn’t even have thought about it if not for one of the mister’s favorite post: [...]
