Shoe Therapy

July 19th, 2008 @ 4:28 pm by Mrs. Green Tea

Dreaming about dresses proved to be a nice little break from all the wedding projects for my exploding head, which motivated me to dream a little… lower. I must admit that I’m not a shoe fanatic (I know, there’s 2 of our kinds left, me and this one other chick), and I’ve actually never purchased shoes online. So just for fun, I did a little browsing for red shoes over at Zappos

mmMMmm texture…

Did I mention that I loooovvveee pleats (and shapely heels)?

Maybe not this shoe but prints can be fun:

Metal barbell thingabob (kinda)? Yup.

Plaids and bows, pretty up there with pleats for me:

That rose is so cute I wanna eat it…

I would have liked a pair of fun red shoes for the wedding, but I haven’t found any I love. I don’t believe in purchasing shoes for a single occasion, or spending too much. I bought a pair I adore a little while back, and realized later that they could work as wedding shoes. The rose gold color stands out a bit next to the champagne dress, they’re comfy (for being so high), fun, and rewearable. I don’t know her name either, just that she’s by BCBGirls. We shall name her, Midna (the Twilight Princess):

Do your shoes match, balance, offset, or bring contrast to your dress?

Loooove the second ones! I’m not as big a fan of pleats as you, but the heels are killer and the colour is fab!

As much as I love red shoes, I think out of the whole bunch of shoes you posted the ones you already bought are my favorite!

My shoes are…I guess balancing my dress. My dress is white, but with purple beading, and my shoes are metallic purple for extra pop. (Bonus: they’re definitely re-wearable, either for another formal event or just to dress up some jeans)

The last ones with the rose are my favorites! The color of my shoes don’t match perfectly but they are comfortable and the same material. I’m thinking of dying them anyway to match my bridesmaid dresses.

Those are some beautiful shoes.

For my wedding dress, I’ve purchased insanely practical white sketchers sandals. I figured that I’ll be spending the bulk of my time in them, and no one’s really going to see them under my ridiculously large gown, so they won. But I’ll be changing into something a little lighter later in the evening, so I’ll be looking for something really fun for that outfit. Maybe I’ll get some red shoes for that!

I am that other non-shoe girl! I’d just as soon go barefoot at my wedding, but I suppose I have to put somthing on my feet.

These are all nice shoes… but my pulse doesn’t quicken (and its only because I’m not a shoegal)

Unless I’m “the other chick” - there are three of us! =)
I think the best thing about shoes and weddings are the pictures! I’ll be “barefoot” (actually in sandals I plan on making) but i posted about my shoe picture envy!

mmm… pleats…

my shoes definitely add contrast - some bright pink sexy heels to add a splash of color to a voluminous ivory dress.

I love love the rose heels. I went shopping for white shoes and decided I would never wear them again, so I had red shoes for my wedding.

the second pair are fluevogs… surprised you can get those through Zappos.

however, they’re on sale at fluevog.com right now (and presumably in their own stores) $99 Canadian, don’t know about American, but that’s less than half regular price. go go go!

Ooh, one of those shoes is my bridesmaid’s shoes! I’ve yet to blog about my attire, but let’s say my shoe choices were not to dissimilar from yours!

Mine match. I wanted contrast originally but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to wear ivory patent leather platforms with 5 in stiletto heels!
