About Mrs. Cookie

Hello, Gorgeous!

July 21st, 2008 @ 2:53 pm by Mrs. Cookie

She’s here! After months of patiently and not so patiently waiting, I got the call!“Hello, this is Miss Cookie.”

“Hi Miss Cookie, this is Jordan with Anna Bè. I am excited to tell you that your dress has arrived.”

“Huzzah! Can I come over and say, ‘Hello?’”

“Absolutely!”

And that’s just what I did. Although, my dress will be held in the custody of my fabulous bridal salon, Anna Bè, until my fittings are complete, I couldn’t have my dress in the vicinity without at least saying hello. So, I braved the horrors of rush hour traffic –FYI: I drive like a grandma – to see her.

And there she was! Just as I remembered. Ivory. Biased-cut. Mermaid skirt. It was one of those, “OMG, I am getting married!” moments! Our meeting was brief – just a quick inspection to make sure nothing had been damaged during shipping, and I also set a fitting schedule. But I couldn’t leave the salon empty handed. My veils were also in!

Sara Gabriel did a fabulous job with my veils. Excuse the atrocious after pony-tail hair, but I had only a brief time before Mr. Cookie came home to snap a self portrait. So with out further ado: I give you my veils!

Did anyone else go visit their dress once it arrived?

I can not WAIT for this day. I absolutely can NOT WAIT!!!

And yes… I will be visiting. It’s possible that I will be banned from the bridal salon after my wedding.

I agree with cannotwait … I was a little confused by your “atrocious after-pony hair” comment - you are totally beautiful! And the veils are gorgeous.

that is a gorgeous picture of you! When I saw your picture I thought you would also be posting about a makeup trial b/c you look so great in that picture :)

I think your hair looks really good! Honestly - I’d already mentally said that before I saw you weird ponytail comment. You look beautiful! Can’t wait to see the dress on!

You look so pretty in your veil and I love the second one too! You make me want to go out and buy another! I used Sarah Gabriel as well; her flagship is a block from my house:) Too tempting….

I actually visited the dress a couple of times after purchase (well, visited the sample anyway). Once was to show my mom the dress in person (she lives out of town) and the other times were to match veil fabric. ;)

You already look stunning without the full-fledged wedding makeup regalia! I love the idea of two veils - I take it you will wear the tulle for the ceremony and the birdcage for the reception? I’m toying with that idea myself, especially since I can make them inexpensively.

Miss X says:

I have both an elbow length traditional veil and a birdcage veil that I can use on our wedding day. I thought I had made my final decision on using just the BC veil, but now I can’t decide again!!

Also, I agree with everyone else, you look gorgeous in the picture above…and I’m jealous of your ability to line up a self portrait. Mine would end up being only half of my head (if I got any at all)!
