About Miss Sweet Tea

If you mean the funnest weekend ever celebrating the Gingerbreads’ wedding! Yours truly and Mr. Sweet Tea had a fantastic time sightseeing and doing way too much eating and shopping in Vancouver, in between all the fun wedding-related events. But you don’t care about my experience, do you? You’re just here for the pictures, I know it!

Ok, ok, I guess I will indulge you with this special sneak peek at the Gingerbread wedding.

The biggest surprise is that Miss Gingerbread forgot to order utensils, leaving us to fend for ourselves at the reception…

Gotcha! We were just enjoying the BBQ, held the night before at the Gingerbread house (teehee, I’ve been dying to type that out forever!)

Now, onto the good stuff. As you can imagine, the ceremony was gorgeous. I conquered my fear of heights and took a picture by, if not on, the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, just before arriving at the ceremony site:

The flowerkids made it down the aisle in heart-melty fashion:

And the ceremony had some touching (though near-disastrous) moments, like the ring-warming:

And the kiss (this part was disaster-free!):

After the ceremony, it was off to the reception, where the drinks were plentiful:

And much fun was had by younger and older alike:

Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, we were treated to a dim sum brunch the next day, and stuffed ourselves silly:

Followed by a group trip to Granville Island and a boat ride in the harbor, a nice way to cap off our weekend with the Gingerbreads!

I wish I could say our flight home was a breeze, but alas I didn’t hit my bed until 3 AM this morning. Travel woes excepted, I was so glad to be able to share this special occasion with the Gingerbreads- join me in another round of congratulations for the happy couple!

Oh, I guess I only mentioned it in a previous response to my last post- I met Miss Gingerbread online through our respective blogs when I was still living in New York a few years ago. When I moved to California, the Mrs. Gingerbreads were among my first friends here! I’m bummed they moved to Vancouver, but considering how awesome the city is, and the fact they have full rights there, it’s easy to see why they did!

I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics… I got shills just from the few you posted. I wish I had applied to be a BEE but alas, I did not. But let me just comment on how great it is to read about and see a wedding from begging (planning process) and then it comes to fruition right before your eyes… amazing!
