About Mrs. Bee

Next Post, Previous Post

July 22nd, 2008 @ 5:17 pm by Mrs. Bee

A few people suggested we add the prev/next links to the bottom of each blog post… so we just did! There were similar links at the top and bottom of the page, but you’re right - those links make a lot more sense in the middle of the page.  Thanks to violarulz and lauracare for the idea!

We’re all in mourning for Read More Right Here over at Weddingbee HQ… but the servers are much happier.  But since we know a number of you are in mourning too, we wanted to add those prev/next links ASAP per your suggestion!

Let us know if the new placement of the links works for you!

I do love the read more right here, but I think this is a perfect compromise, and it is working great today. Thanks for keeping it on the top few. Thanks so much for all of the hard working Bee’s who let us stalk weddingbee all day long!!!!

I thought the front page was loading fine before, but after you guys removed the RMRH feature from the bottom posts, it’s loading up super fast now!

I was so amazed at how much faster it loaded and how easy it was to get to the next post, I forgot to mourn. Very well done, Team Bee. :-D

The lack of ‘read more right here’ is horrible, imo. I’ve cut back my weddingbee browsing by quite a bit, especially because I used to surf on the go a lot, and I use my iphone to access the site. So now instead of tuning in daily, I maybe check the site twice a week, and end up missing on a good junk because I don’t have the time to go back through all of the responses.

I do like the link to the next post though.

@Mrs. Eggplant: Thanks for the positive feedback! Actually, I just looked at the stats and “Visits” are up 20%, so I think a lot more new visitors are sticking around for the first page to load!

I miss the RMRH link–it made it a lot easier to read the blogs you were interested. Now I have to click through all the blogs if I choose to RMRH for one (complete with all the comments)……but the pages are loading up way faster.

I am sorely missing the “read more right here.” using the back button to get to the main page takes far too long to load, and I don’t want to use the next or last post option because I sure don’t have time to read every blog - i have to choose what i’d like to look at.

i’m totally having issues with the new website format. i can definitely navigate well and consider myself very internet/comp savy… but i loved the drop down menu of Read More… instead of having to load another page. please please revert back because this is driving me nuts and it’s making me lose my patience to look at posts. i just skim through the front page now w/out bothering with the Read More. thanks. (apology for sounding demanding or better yet whiney)

I never used the “read more” thing-a-ma-jig, so I’m not missing it at at- but I’m LOVING the link to the next post in the middle of the page! Thanks very much! :)
