About Mrs. Lovebug

***sneaks in wearing Blue Blockers and trenchcoat***Pssst, hey! Over here! It’s me, Lovebug! This is totally an unofficial visit since I made my GREAT BIG DRAMATIC GRAND EXIT and all - but it seems my wedding well has a few more bucketfuls in it, after all. ;)

I had to pop by and mention my discovery of Wordle, because it has great potential for DIY fun. You enter in some text, and clickety-click: it generates a pretty little word cloud, weighted according to frequency. Brilliant for poems, random thoughts, favorite passages…and wedding ceremonies!

This is what I got when I entered in the text of our own ceremony:

The colors and fonts are (somewhat) customizable, and I think that printed and framed, it would be such a sweet, personalized wedding memento. You could also put in the text of your programs, a special letter - or even a list of 365 reasons you adore your husband. I love the way such powerful words are all grouped together in an artistic, pretty way.

By the way, Mr. Lovebug’s name comes up smaller than mine because I used variations of his - not because I mentioned myself more when I wrote our ceremony. ;) I’m going to go back and fix that, and print up a crisp black and white version of the cloud to hang in our bedroom.

A cool, free wedding souvenir that’s totally one of a kind - I had to share. :)

p.s. I promised I’d let everyone know of any new blog I had in the works; you’re welcome to stop by, but it’s VERY fledgling and still trying to find its “blog legs”. Keep those expectations low, people.

Hey, whatchu doing here? Geddout!

Joking. Always happy to see the little red bug. Thanks for the heads-up on the word mix-up - seems very cool. I particularly like the way it says “bring gratitude woman!” in the bottom-left corner. A subliminal command for thanks perhaps? ;)

I LOVE that word cloud idea! Thanks for sharing that! :)

Also, I am excited to check out your blog - I just started my own a few months ago and it’s been really fun trying to find my own “blog legs” ;)

Our wordle-ed ceremony is framed and hung on our wall, right in the middle of our living room - its a great way to remind ourselves of the committment we made and how much fun we had making it… !

I found that a while ago and made some from my wedding blog (instead of entering individual words, you can enter a website URL too.)

I think its so much fun! And I am loving the idea of its being a wedding keepsake! Go Lovebug!

Just peeked at your new blog - you changed your *first* name? How do you keep coming up with ways to be my hero? The mind boggles.

Thanks for stopping by. See how well I’m weaning myself from wb? Not so well.

I’ve been playing with wordle since Penguin turned me on to your blog (which is great, keep it up!) I made word clouds to put on handmade cards for my mom, my dad, each bridesmaid, and my fiancee to give them all at the rehearsal dinner/day of the wedding. Much better than a storebought card! Awesome find, Mrs. LB.

I checked out your blog and loved it. But I wondered, why are you called “Debbie” in your wordle and “Ellie” on your blog? Mutiple personalities? ;)

Another use for Wordle — lyrics from the first dance song. Ours turned out beautifully.

(Ha, and I noticed the name-size disparity right away … are you SURE it’s not a sign of who has the upper hand in your relationship, ha ha?)

LOVEBUG!!!! I thought I was dreaming when I saw your post!! Oh, how I’ve missed you. I know it’s probably only been what a month?! That thing is very cool, but yeah, what’s with the name change? Witness protection? ;-)

hey, I found Wordle recently too! The only catch is the image can only be saved through “Print Screen” or save as PDF (if you have Acrobat).

woot for the lovebug post!

Word up to Wordle! Thanks for another awesome idea~ see how we need our lovebug? :)

P.S. I have already added your blog to my reader. So excited to start following it.

Lucy says:

The colors are completely customizable. Just select “Edit custom palette” under color. You can change the background as well as the text colors.

Oh, and Mac users: there is a fabulous screen capture tool that allows you to select just that part of the screen you want. Apple + Shift + 4. That helps out a little with the lack of ability to save the image.

Michelle says:

OMG! My day (make that MONTH) was just made seeing your little appearance (and subsequent dash over to your new blog). As always, great posts, great tips!

It couldnt of been more perfect timing… first off love it that you come back once in a while. I miss you Mrs.Lovebug. Secondly, ever since Im no longer a Miss I feel like I have to plan stuff or do DIY projects. That being said, I revamped my office space and started making my own clouds… seriously. Now with this website, I have time to make more crazy DIYs…

Thanks I love it. And hope you come back once in a while with awesomeness. xox

Yay! Glad you guys liked it. Pretty addictive stuff. Especially when you go through old document files and play cut-and-paste…

On my name: my maiden name is Debbie Baker. When I got married, I decided to drop my first name and use my middle name, Elizabeth - making me Elizabeth Moore. (I’d always preferred my middle name and always wanted to make the switch.) Elizabeth was then quickly dropped to Ellie…Ellie Moore, at your service! :)
